Does anyone have any more information on the tires vibrating at speed and rebalancing helping? Is this a hit or miss issue?
I am keeping on eye on the forums for this because my combo will be here on Monday...

Yes. I joined TL Friday morning, then ordered my setup a few hours later. Every Friday TL mails out memberships. Once you receive your membership ID number, fill out the form and mail it in. You can also mail in the GY mail in rebate once you receive your setup. Both rebates will work

ANyone know the total hight that puttling 33's on would raise, i know a 2 inch lift would raise it 2 inches, just not sure how many inches it would raise my stock wrangler sport. i still like parking in my garage, and would hate to make it sit outside?

Depends on what your stock tire size is, but 2" bigger tires only raises your Jeep 1" because only the radius counts not the diameter and even then compression can change the final outcome depending on one tire having weaker side walls over the next. Only the distance from the axle to the ground raises your jeep. The distance from the axle to the wheel well just lowers wheel well clearance.

Saying this, the Duratrac 33X12.5X15's are not true 33's (Tire rack states in their specs that they are actually 32.5" tires) and since they have so much sidewall the compression is pretty great. I only had to change the computer setting 1/4" up from the stock Goodyear 255/75/17" which people call 32's but according to Tire Rack again are actually 31.1"s meaning it only added 1/4" to the actually height because of the compression of the 33's on the small 15" wheel and some claim they didn't have to even change the speedo setting at all over the stock 255's.

Assuming the stock 16's which are 29's are have similar discrepancies and not that compressible as with the stock 32's. I would guess the increase would only be around 1.75" or there about.

Thank you for your support devsfan! You're going to enjoy your new set-up.

We typically do not see any vibration issues with this combination. Just make sure the installer centers the wheel during installation.

I was going to start another thread, but i figured Id just post here. Just got them on today... Goodyear Duratrac 33x12.5 on MB 72s 15x8. The cost for 5 without sensors from DTD was 1400 ( doesnt include 100 TL rebate and 60 gy rebate). I took em to a tire shop and they put them on for me for 17 bucks.

I do not have a lift on the vehicle, stock suspension. I took a couple of close ups so you can see the space.

In the second to last picture, my jeep is in the same position it is in on the last picture on the rock. Tried to get a little bending to see what would happen.

Gotta hit the highway and see how the mpg is. Still waiting to get a procal unit as well, but all in good time.

Really dig the set up... Discount Tire Direct is hands down the best.

O yeah... and the rep told me that they were all out of black lug nuts when I asked him about them but they still came with my order! I had to request the black lettering on the outside( didnt know this, glad I asked the rep on the phone). Also, I think they gave me a free certificate for replacement for one tire. Awesome!

A few more to get an idea of the stance. Here in NJ, its illegal for the tires to stick out past the fenders but cops really don't bother ya.

I was planning on doing it myself. Is it not as simple as take old wheels off, bolt new wheels on?

This was a very informative thread, and ended up being the route I chose as well! Just placed my order for my "combo" at my local DT. I gotta say, with WA sales tax, I got a hefty bill of $1,839.13 b/f discounts...

Nevertheless, I'll be forever glad to be rid of those factory steelies

Today's quote for WA state:
$475 ---- 5x MB72 15x8 5-127 -19MTB
$925 ---- 5x GY duratrac 33x12.5 R15
$40 ----- 5x TPMS Valve kit
$185 ---- Lifetime balance, "environmental" fee, 4 replacement certs
$159.13 - sales tax

Anybody know what this item might be? 1 1/2 BLG 3/4x1.9" XL HTD 5 Lug? (code 84097) It's on my order too for $55, no biggie, just wanna know what it is. Spacer perhaps?

Pics will come once the combo is mounted

It's hefty because you added the TPMS and the Cert of replacement. Plus sales tax didn't help. But looking at your prices for the wheels and tires, that's better than the online prices

As far as that other item, I'm thinking lug nuts? Lug nuts in black.

JKcliffdiver, Thanks for your support. Make sure you post up some photos of your Jeep when you get a chance.

VaderJK12 is correct the other item is for a wheel lug kit.

My 15 inch 33's are 31.5 inches tall; the same as the 255 Goodyear SRA's.

What PSI are you running?

I've never actually measured mine, but they are clearly larger than my original rubi tires--I know because they almost cover my third brake light, which my OEM tires never approached.

I thought I had read others getting to 32.25 with this set up. Are you putting a flat edge across the top of your tread and measuring from the highest point, or just a tape up the sidewall?

Yeah spendy as it may be, its my DD so I kinda want to keep TPMS and free tires should bad things happen are always nice.

Using a ProCal can take of that. Unless a lift is installed of course.

Well my setup came in Just waiting on the lug nuts since they shipped from a different location. Hoping to have these bad boys installed by Thursday

Just got my combo in, but with silver lug nuts instead of black! . After a phone call to DTD, black lug nuts should be here in 2 days. Dammit, I'm so impatient!

For those who have ordered the gorilla black lug nuts with the combo set up, FYI the lugs are smaller than the holes in your MB wheels. They do not fill the hole all the way to the sides. I mounted mine on them originally but took them off in favor of the stock lugs again which fill the entire hole.

You can get some vibrations from the wheels if you use these lugs in place of your stockers.
