Rim question

this has prob been asked before but i was wondering would that 15 inch rim fit on a 2012? ive heard that they cant fit a 15 inch rim? And when measured after you mounted these how tall did they actually end up being? Thanks for the help.

Ok, spoke w/ Earl (ext 51880) at DTD. According to him, the 15" MB 72s will fit a 2012 w/out interference from the brake caliper.

Be aware that the only availbe BS would be 3.25". He also stated that they are only showing 1 in stock right now as since the manufacturer is closed today, he won't be able to find out the availability until Monday. He says we can still get the Black Friday discount if we order Monday.

So give Earl a call on Monday and he'll hook you up.

I've been researching and this is the exact setup I was looking at. Just wasn't sure if the 15s would fit on my 2012 without any modding.

I also wasn't sure on BS. I was looking at 4.5 but see this was 3.5. That means the tires would stick out further than w/ a BS of 4.5 correct? If so, I can live w/ that no prob.
The 15x8 MB72 will work on the JK without spacers or the need to grind the calipers. It's a bolt on fitment The Offset on this wheel is -19mm which gives you 3.75" of backspace. This wheel combined with a 12.50" wide tire will stick out of the fender slightly (see the pictures below)

You will certainly need some beefy tires with that lift

We do not offer military discounts at this time but we do guarantee the lowest out the door prices on all the products we carry. If a competitor ever has a cheaper advertised delivered price, we'll beat it! We also give all WF members here $50.00 OFF their total with the purchase of 5 tires

Tempting

Let's see 33X12.5X15 are $194 each (they were $6 cheaper last month)
MB Chaos 5's are $106 each
plus required valve stem are $3.00 each (Don't need installation kit)

Makes it $1515 total minus $150 WF/black friday discount for $1365
You are correct! Purchasing a set of both wheels and tires qualifies for the instant $100.00 Discount and if you purchase an extra 5th tire the instant $50.00 OFF WF member discount is also applicable!

The 15x8 ET-19 MB72 is currently sold out but we are expecting more stock sometime mid December. You can place an order with us now to reserve a set and the Black Friday Savings will still be applicable.

***Please note that the 15x8 ET-19 MB72 has 3.75" of backspace***

Ok, here comes the dumb question/comment of the day. I'll be hiding under my bed after asking this.....

Looking at the OPs pics and the DTD pics....is it just me or do the OPs pics make the tires look grey? I hadn't really noticed until I saw the new pics by DTD and the tires look black.

Anyone got any insight on this?

They're definitely black. They're not a deep dark shiny black because they don't have tire shine on them...and you wouldn't do that to your duratracs would you

Might just have to do with the lighting. Here mine are kinda gray

And here they are black

Figured it was lighting and absense of tire shine, just making sure I wasn't overlooking something obvious.

Nice rig by the way.

Guess there is no turning back now. Went ahead an ordered the MB Chaos 5 wheels for my Christmas present to myself. They will be ready for when my current tires wear out. Will order the Duratracs for them then. These things will torture me waiting.

Nice!

I was just looking at those. Am thinking about the Black Rocks, but not sure on the backspacing.

Any know how to convert the BS from mm to inches? Obviously it's not the "standard" calculation.

They round on the wheel size so 12mm is 1/2" and 19mm is 3/4". The MB72 and Chaos 5's are -19mm on 8" wheel which translates to 3.75"bs

You need to extra bs to fit 15" wheels without them hitting the caliper

Since my math sucks tonight and I'm into a bottle of rum, so tell me how close I am on this?

8" wheel w/ -12mm offset = 4.5 (or is it 3.5?, didn't know which "direction" to go)

Details: Backspace and Offset - How do they relate?

The mm is offset not backspace by the way. Offset is measured from the offset from center of the wheel. So a -19 is 3/4 back from center of the wheel.

Backspace is measured from the outside edge of the wheel and is in inches

Thanks Matt.

I'm 99% convinced on the MB 72s. (15x8) Already confirmed they'd fit my 2012.

I was just browsing DTD and came across the Black Rocks and like the look. However the offest is different than the MBs and I wasn't clear on whether that was translated into more or less backspace. Backspacing and offset were alien terms to me until yesterday so I'm trying to catch up.

Gotcha. I understand the diff between offset and backspace just was having difficulty comparing wheels with different offsets and wasn't clear on calculating the different backspacing.

It's really great to see so many people order this set. IMO it's the best 33 inch tire combo for the JK. You can't beat the weight, size, and performance from them.
