Door Hinge Paint

Anyone else have this problem?

I have a 2007 Sahara.

The paint on my door hinges is starting to bubble after only 2 years. I know this has occured from how the door panel is painted in the factory.

I first noticed this on the passenger side door about a month ago. Now the two hinges on the drivers side door have begun to bubble, as well. The hinges and doors have never been removed from the vehicle.

I have not contacted my dealer yet, but I feel this should be a warranty issue. I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem similar to this and if their dealer did anything about it. Regardless, it is only going to get worse and I am sure the paint will peel eventually.

From the looks of it, I'd say they won't do anything for you till the thing is rusting, and then not unless it rusts completely through.

I m having the same problems with the hinges on my doors and whats more ironic is that I also have silver.I went to the dealer and they told me that it may not be rust but a defect in the paint (NOT). They gave me the option to fix it, but advised against it at this time because of what it would entail to fix it. They suggested that the situation be monitored since i have 2yrs left on the warr and I agreed. At this time it looks like the hood hinges are starting.......let me know

I Have the same issue with my 2008 the door hinge paint has bubbled and peeled and it has also started on the hood hinges. It has been that way for quite some time. It is not a rust issue, there is no rust even after they peeled. I think they changed the hinges to aluminum and the paint just peels from them. My brother's 2010 is just starting to bubble. Not peeling yet.

Happy to be trading it in on Thursday and not have to look at the ugly peeled paint any longer. They did not say anything about it and it did not seem to affect the trade in value, as they gave me more than I expected for it. My guess is that it is a common issue on all wrangler around this year.
