First 2010 JK for sale?

Hi all, my first post on this forum. I'm not totally new to Jeeps, we have an 07 Commander 3.0 diesel, and now my WIFE would like us to get a Wrangler Unlimited. Of course I love them as well, but the fact that she wants one, makes it just mandatory to buy one.

The 2010 JK has been in production apparently just for a few weeks, but it seems that there is already now one for sale over here in Switzerland. Or am I just stupid/ignorant?

Check these out:

The colour is dark grey (was supposed to start with 2010?), but it seems that there's also some tiny upgrades in the interior. At least I've never seen the cockpit like in the second picture. Anyway it looks nice, the price is 50 400 CHF, so round about 47 000 USD (I know it's a lot for the american viewers, over here it's slightly below normal).

That could actually become mine... hmmm....

Thanks, that's then just me being stupid.

However the exterior colour charcoal has not been available (at least not here) before. So it could still be new, or maybe imported from another market.

2010's have been available here in the states for the past four weeks. If the sticker on the car says it's a 2010, it's a 2010.
Nice looking rig...is it a diesel as well? Interesting front bumper. Hope you get it.

Yup, it's a diesel. Even though I'm still not 100% sure which one to get. The 3.8l has more hp, a bit less torgue, but I just like the "spirit" of petrol engines more. The downside is higher fuel consumption, more need for maintenance.

However if the same Mercedes 3.0l diesel would be an option as on my Commander, then I would go for that, no doubt about it. The torgue is just unbelievable.

However this 2.8 diesel is from Italy... they make great stuff from leather, they are good in making things look nice, but an engine? Scaary...

Indeed! Looks like they moved the Fog Lights outboard on the bumper, instead of the inboard position like my '09 has. Odd, because the pics I can find on the web, don't show any with the Fog Lights positioned like that for US models. Well, unless the web is just using '09 pics for their marketing.

Best of Luck with getting the new Unlimited! I like that color! I couldn't tell, but is it a "X", Sahara, or Rubicon model?

Thanks!

Cheers!

The CRD is not a bad engine (but here in the states, the CRD had a hideous EGR system which made that engine completely inefficient). If it were available in the states (and with no EGR), I would love to have one.
The petrol version is not bad, but I can tell you the mileage is terrible (I average around 13~15 in city driving). If the Jeep will be an occasional use vehicle, then that kind of mileage would be acceptable where you live. But if it will be your daily driver, I would consider the CRD.

Are you sure you did your conversion correctly? Or is the import mark-up really $15,000?

As far as I can tell, cosmetically speaking, it looks exactly like the US '07-'10 JK's with the exception of the front bumper.

Is the engine made in Italy? Mine is 2.8 diesel, though made in Germany (as the wranglers sold in a lot of european countries, such as Romania, where I live) and I love it, has a very nice power (by all means), good consumption and so far I'm really happy with it (10 months, 14000 km). I never tried the 3.8 engine on the wrangler though... (none available here)

Carlos, I just saw you're in Switzerland, maybe try get a wrangler from Germany then, or made in Germany, the way is done is really... serious, let's say. You won't expect troubles.
That if you go for the 2.8l model

Just checked out my first 2010 on the local lot. Nothing noteworthy on the appearance other then I don't like the look of the "Wrangler Sport" decals.

One thing I noticed on the one 10 Rubi that my dealer had was that it had the old rubi wheels. I thought that the 10 Rubis were supposed to have a darker colored wheel. Or are they just using up the rest of their wheel supply?
