Granite rocks

6/30 Picked up a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 4x4 in Granite Crystal (had to have this color) 24S package, auto, freedom hardtop.

Wasted no time on the first minor upgrades:
Mopar fuel fillet cover
Receiver hitch

Looking for feedback on the following planned upgrades: (somewhat in order)
Smittybilt SRC Armor side rails (76634)
Smittybilt XRC Atlas rear bumper w/ tire carrier
Smittybilt XRC M.O.D front bumper (full width end caps)
Recovery winch(???)
Fuel Hostage wheels in matte black
35" ( ???)
Rugged ridge light guard kit
Fastback frameless top (???)
2.5 - 3" lift kit with fox racing shocks (Mopar approved)
Lights ??? Thinking led cubes...
Rugged Ridge left A-Pillar switch pod kit
GIBSON METAL MULISHA dual split exhaust (black ceramic)

Electronics
Nav/radio/cd ???
CB kit ???
One of the tilty jeep gauge things.

I'm looking for suggestions, especially the ones with ???

This is my third jeep '78 CJ5 and 1990 YJ Laredo (ya I know it had square headlights when I bought it) but each jeep has it's own quirks and personality so I'm going social instead of going alone.

We are primarily Cape Cod and OBX beach riders and occasionally Down East trails so do not have to go too hardcore. More aesthetics.

Show me what you've done and why it works(or doesn't) for you.

Thanx,
PH

I drove through 3 states to get Granite color / 6 Speed this past weekend
We love this color.
I don't think its included in 2015 so we had to find a needle in a haystack by me cause everything seemed to be automatic (my preference was manual)

Anyways... I agree. Granite Rocks

Congrats! I picked up my 2014 Granite Rubi this past weekend (traded in a 2013 Flame Red Sport). I really like the color a lot!

You mention just light beach trail stuff - you may be ok going with a 33 inch tire. You can do 33s with zero lift, or do a level or small lift. You do not mention what gearing you got. If you got the standard 3.21, your life will get a bit expensive to pull 35 inch rubber. If you have the 3.73, you may be able to get away with it, but your front axle may be a little unhappy (Dana 30, your rear is Dana 44) and definitely at least look into trussing it - and you will most likely want to lower your gearing down. I had a Sport JKU with 3.73 and wanted 35s - by the time I priced out everything I wanted to do, it was cheaper for me just to trade up to a Rubicon.

Edit: 24s package may be the 3.73 gearing. You can confirm on your build sheet or window sticker thing.

I would pass on the Smitty tire carrier. Our local 4 wheel shop told a story about a girl who brought in a Jeep with one. She asked him to make it better. He told her the only way to improve it was remove it and buy something else lol!

I would nix also the Smitty rails if you were inclined to play on rocks or trees, but if its just sand beach and light trails, you may be ok. Ie if you just need a step or door ding type protection. I would take my Jeep naked over rocks before I took it with Smitty rails - I may do body damage but at least I wouldnt be fishing Smitty rails out of the frame as well lol.

Fastback frameless top - I had Bestop Trektop (not the NX with the bars) on my old 4 door limo JKU and loved it!

I have heard mixed reviews on the light guards. Again, if mostly street and light trails, may be ok. But if you plan to ride anything harder, they could cause more damage than they are worth if you clunk them or rip them off.

Granite is definitely dark gray. You may be thinking of Anvil - that is definitely a bit more blueish gray end of the spectrum. I dont think they did that color in 07 tho? If you google 07 colors maybe you can find what yours is called? Steel Blue maybe?

You're right. He's referring to Steel Blue Metallic. Only reason I know is I recall another thread with someone asking about the same color.

Congrats man! Great color, even more so now that it's official and not being carried over to 2015

For rails, check out the Ace Engineering Rock Sliders...was one of the first things I did, love them...you also may like the GraBars made by Welcome Distributing...pretty solid and functions well especially if you plan on lifting in the future.. Good Luck!
