Hardtop compatibility

Hey, quick question for all of you:

I have a 2009 4 door unlimited with soft top. I found a 2007 Mopar Freedom hard top on Craiglist that I was going to pick up this upcoming Saturday and just wanted to make sure that it will be a perfect match before I make the 4 hour journey.

Also, anyone know about how much I should expect to pay for the wiring harness and installation at the dealership? I read that you have to take it to the dealer anyway to get the computer flashed, so I figured I may as well have them do everything to save myself the hassle.

Check with your local Jeep Dealer to be certain, but I DON'T believe it will fit.

If I recall correctly, the 2009's (I have an '09 2-Dr...), had the Center Footman's Loop (You have three Footman Loops on your front windshield. The outer two, are the Loops that your Soft Top Header locks on to. The third one in the middle, is for the Freedom Top to hook to...) moved to the left about an inch, as opposed to it being centered on the '07 and '08 Models.

I could be incorrect on this assumption, so that's why I suggested the Dealer check first.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

BB

I will definitely have to check on that then. Thanks! That would be very unfortunate if I drove all the way there to only find out that the top didn't fit. I just assumed that since almost nothing has changed in the 07-10 body style that the top stayed the same as well.

I see you're in Virginny Beach. My wife and I lived there from '95-'05, in the Chimney Hills area, just off of Holland and Rosemont. Sure don't miss that weather!

Best of Luck with the Top!

Cheers!

Very cool. We live near the intersection of Dam Neck and Holland Rd. I'm originally from Pittsburgh so the Va Beach weather is actually an improvement, ha.

I just called the service/parts dept who told me the tops are exactly the same between the 07-09 models. He couldn't verify where the loops are that you were referring to though. Does anyone else have any input as to where the loops were located on the 2007 unlimited's? And if the loop is off by an inch or so, can it be relocated to fit?

I just called my Parts Guy at my local Jeep Dealer, and he confirmed that the '07's & '08's are the same, but the '09's and '10's are shifted to the left.

I also took a look at Quadratec, and their listing shows a separate listing for '07/'08 Models, and '09/'10 Models.

HEY FELLOW JEEPERS OUT THERE! HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!

Can any of you with an '07 or '08 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, measure the distance between your three Footman's Loops at the top of your Windshield? It's where the Soft Top Header, or the Hardtop Clamps on to. I'm looking for the distance between the Left one and the Middle one, as well as the distance between the Middle one and the Right one. For example, the distance between the Left and Middle ones on my '09 2-Dr, are 11-5/8", and the distance between the Middle and Right ones are 15-7/8". If any of you folks can provide that info, we can help out another Jeeper!

THANKS!

Cheers!
