Hi , Im New In The forum And if been reading and think you can help.
I have a wrangler x 2008 and my dad without knowing bought me some tires , 285 - 75, 16 at first i noticed that at full steering it hits a bar down there. then i bought some 8" spacers and everithing is ok but i feel something in my hands when im driving like some vibration when i steer a little bit going at 30 mph, i dont know if thats normal so i dont know what should i do.
tHANKS...
275 is the widest that will fit without spacers or different wheels.
Sounds like something is wonky; go to a tire shop and let them check. Could be balance, could be the spacers are installed wrong. Could be cheap unbalanced spacers...
Could be problems stated above, or you might want to get wider spacers or wheels with more backspacing; and maybe even throw a budget boost on it and begin the inevitable process of wallet shrinking.
today a made balance and took off the spacer and my surprise is that i still feel somthing weird in my hands when drivinng, i made cheks on suspension and steering system but everihing is okkk im going crazy whith this subject im wondering if it is the tires but i dont thiks so.... maybe i buy some new tires and thats not the issue...
What do you think i can do because im going crazy whith my new car.
thaks
Tento, there are too many things that it might be for us to guess.
My advice is to look at the quick/cheap/easy things first and then move on to the exotic.
Check the wheels for balance, the steering damper for excess play, the wheel bearings, various bushings, driveline lash, rotors, drifeshafts, etc.
I had a company car once with an annoying shimmy and it turned out to be a badly balanced driveshaft....
thats what im going to do thanks allot, ill come back qhen its solved jajaj and ive decided to buy yokohama 265/75 - 16 whith no spacer all iriginal i think my life would be better jeje
thank you
ok so today i went to service and the guy says that is normal because of the tires so i dont k now if thts true but i was wandering if i buy the rubicon tire 255 76 17 whith other wheels and good year tires a/t would my problem solve???
or if i buy mud tires smaller???
i dont know what to do it just dosent feel right, and when thw car was up i moved the tires ant the soun is still.
ok dont know just asking so if anyone knows something.
