I have the two-door and use the back seat all the time. It's sitting in my garage and sometimes I sit on it to put on my boots; mostly I just have boxes and tool all over it though.
If I had a bigger garage I would've gotten the fodo (four door); I like them.

Im am in the same boat as you. The only time I really like 2 door look better visually, is with the tops on. With the tops off they both look tight. imo. Plus, its hard for anyone to get into the back seat of a two door. I hate climbing into the back of my brothers. Getting out is worse because of the 3 foot drop. of course with a 4 door its not a problem because you can just step in and out.

I just test drove a four door today, to describe it, its a cross between a jeep and an suv. When backing into tight spaces and manouvering around I thought it was going to handle like an over sized brick. But it actually handled just as well as the two doors ive driven. You just got to check them both out and make the decision yourself. I liked the 4 door better mainly because of the extra room. If you dont really care for or need the extra room then get a two door. i think I kind of like the unlimited a little better for an every day driving type vehicle. I am not big into the 4 door off roading aspect of it and how it compares to the 2 door performance wise. But then again Im just driving mine around town.

Ok, so I'm on the tractor grading the forest road. My wife is following me up with the new 2 door Rubi (no rear seat) and stops to pick up 5 (yes 5) realestate agents wanting to look at a property at the top. Their Tahoe had enough after the first 3mi. I meet up with them at the top with these 5 adults cramed in 4 in the back across from each other interlocking legs covered with dust because they wanted the rear window open. LOL!!! All I could do was wave and smile as they headed back down.

I just bought a 4 door Rubicon. I went with the 4 door because it fits 5 passengers, so with a wife and 3 kids this is perfect. I can talk all of them in it to the beach or camping with no issues - couldn't have done that with the 2 door. Very happy with my choice!

There is a time for them. I already raised mine. Now my son has to drive the big Landcruiser to haul his kids around and I get to drive the 2 door Jeep.

Ha, it's mine time without the kids finally too. They are still at home but with the boys being 18 and 19 and the daughter being 14 I went 2 door. On the rare occassions one of them has to crawl into the back, too bad, as hubby said, it's my turn to have a fun ride, my mom-mobile days are over. However, I haven't had a fun ride since we had the mustang some 19 years ago, I've been mom-mobiling ever since so I guess I am over due.
