First weekend after getting my new JK, went up a big hill to a local rest.

Ok, so this is the first time I tried out my new JK 4x4. When to El Cerro de Nandy. This is located in the town of San Lorenzo in Puerto Rico. Cerro is a slang here for a small mountain that is steep enough to make it hard for a vehicle to get to the top.

In the pictures you see the hill going to the top, no is not my Jeep there, at that time I already finished my trip and was looking at others going up. The hill is rocky and I would say about 75 degrees at the beggining (which is that picture), then, 55 or 60 at the end.

At the small house you can get drinks, beer, or local food like fried pork, bbq ribs, rice and beans, fricase de conejo (rabbit stew or something like that, sorry never translated this one before). There is music, a wonderful view and a lot of Jeep owners you can talk to and have a good time.

I was the first one to go up that day!!! I have a panoramic picture of the view but I cannot upload it here, system won't let me, sorry!!

Had no other choice than to try to straddle a hole. Managed to balance the JK on two wheels long enough to get a pic of my left rear wheel completely off the ground.

The ground gave away and the front end slid down in the hole up to the left front fender. I got out fine but ripped off the left front mud flap in the process.

It will be easy to put back on. Just need to buy some more of those plastic fasteners at the Stealership.

Alabama. One of the few places in the U.S. where one week it can get down to 17 degrees and snow for two days....

...Then a week later the temp gets up to 72 degrees in time for some mud slinging.
