2012 Cosmos Blue posing for a picture

I took Blue Meanie out for a lunchtime drive today to stretch his wheels. I found some undeveloped land nearby that didn't have a no-trespassing sign which is amazing for this overdeveloped county. I drove a few hundred feet through deep grass and some scraggly brush and found a little sand and mud to play in.

Thank you, sir. This actually is a sample from 4 different trips. My Jeep is stock, so I have to rely on location to make it look good.

Thanks, one thing this thread proves is the wide variety of terrain and climate the Jeep will succeed in.

What are you paying for gas over in Saudi per liter. Do you have a special air filter for the Jeep? I have been in some wicked sand storms while visiting Kuwait and Saudi.

I'm stationed in Kuwait, and we just filled our Camry up full for about 3 bucks. But that's on base, i'm not sure if it's the same off base.

The price changes but is around half a Riyal per liter, which means when I fill everything it costs about 27-29 Riyals. This means you can fill a Jeep JK 2-Door for about...7.50 USD.

It also means that you can drive off-road every day if you want to and not worry about it affecting your savings or other needs. It's probably similar to the price on Appleman's base, maybe a little bit more.

We get very large transmission coolers on our Wranglers (larger than the one Mopar advertises), but we don't get any special air filter and sand is a major problem. My clock spring failed early due to sand inside it, after a major multi-day sandstorm. As for the air filter itself, we change it more frequently and also clean it with compressed air sometimes.

I think anyone who drives or lives in the desert has to accept that some things on his vehicle won't last long due to sand, and you have to try to clean it frequently, and a strict routine for cleaning will help. We have cleaning places here where you can have your whole Jeep including underneath cleaned for maybe 40-50 SAR, which is maybe 14 USD. It's worth it to have the access to nature/beauty a Jeep provides.

Nice, I have a son of similar age who I also take out to the desert like this. He knows the difference between car and Jeep in two languages, waves at Jeeps, and he's not yet 3.
