Jumped on the black wheel train....

Ended up plasti dipping my stock sport wheels to see what they would look like black.....I was right, they look awesome. If plasti dip doesn't hold up ill either paint or PC them.

Took 5 coats, and it covered great. Seem to be a good layer on there so hopefully they'll hold up well or at least until I get them painted for real.

Here it is. I think the anvil looks great with black wheels.

Looks great! I've seen painted ones to and I think the plasti dip looks way better!

If you want it to come off later in large pieces...you need at least 8 coats. Thicker is better with plasti dip.

well I did a test run on my spare wheel before I did all of them, let it dry and then peeled it off....seemed to come off ok in larger chunks....only did 4 coats on that.

I figured 5 would be ok....Plus I don't plan on peeling them off anytime soon unless I actually paint them.

I'm seriously considering doing this to my stock Sahara wheels until I can afford nicer wheel/tire combo.

So it peels off (with enough coats) and does not harm the oem wheel at all?

Shouldn't do any harm to the wheel. It peels off nice and easy....around the lug holes it gets a bit tricky, but all in all pretty easy to get off.

I used a quick detailer to clean the wheels before I sprayed as some recommended so it comes off a bit easier when you do eventually peel it off.

I think Anvil should have come from the factory with black wheels. I dipped mine in February and have loved the black ever since.
