Smile Just got mine!

I am totally new to this site...and a previous Jeep owner...but I just picked up a 2008 X this weekend and I LOVE IT!! This is my first post, so hopefully the attached pictures work...

I am suprised to see that the tires are much larger than they were on my 2000 Sport (these are 255/75 on 17s). A friend of mine has an older Sahara that he put larger tires on ( I believe 31") and my Jeep looks taller and so much better (he's all mad)

I'm going to leave it "as is" for now since it is going to mostly be a daily driver. I figure even stock Jeeps can handle a little light off-roading...so I should be ok for the occasional weekend fun.

Doesn't this color rock? Sorry...I'm still drooling.

I really like the color. I got a 4 door this past fall and my wife and I wanted that color but couldn't find one at the time so we purchased a black one.

Hey!! Welcome... I am a new to this site like you are. I had an old 98 wrangler in that color and loved it!!! It looks even nicer with a fresh coat of dried mud all over it! gives it a good camo look!!!!! I couldn't wait for a green one and just had to get my 09 JK so i got the Rock Red and I love it too!! I think you are right I feel as if i sit much higher for in the new jeep. Any one know if this is true or are we both off our rockers and just need to get down and dirty in the mud with the jeeps!

If I'm not wrong, the new model really is a bit higher than the previous one; though you still need to get them down and dirty
Welcome and enjoy

I also got a new 2008 Wrangler X

I love my jeep too! I got it about a month or two ago. Is just like yours but a wine color. I am adding a few things to it but not too many changes. I love the height of this jeep!! I got some cover seats to protect it from the Florida sun, some side steps (which I am waiting on delivery)since some of my friends are short (LOL!) and I put a new stereo system in it that rocks!!

I have attached some pics..hope this work. I am like you new to the forum.

Looks good! Where did you get your seat covers? I am contemplating the same because Las Vegas sun is just as damaging....

You know what this means right you have to jack it up now because 32 are just to small because they are stock, and stock is always to small, to weak, to low.... LOL

Nice jeep. I got seat covers from WalMart. They were cheap. I got the ones with the separate head rest covers (but included in one package). I can't remember what I paid for them but the figure of around 35-40 seems to come to mind. A small enough amount of money that it now escapes me. They are very nice synthetic, short fir (don't know what they call the material) but nice to sit on. They look nice in the vehicle. They had a selection of colors. I have to go back and check out if they have something for the back seat. I was more interested in getting something for the front seats at the time I bought them. Hope you find something that you like.

We just got an 09 Unlimited Sahara in that same color.
It's our second Jeep, our first was a 2003 Wrangler X. We love them!
Nice to see we're all doing our part to stimulate the auto industry!
Best of luck with it,
Charlie

We got ours a couple of weeks ago...
We sure do enjoy it! Ours is a sahara with sunburst orange with a hard top!
One of the posts mentioned seat covers... since we have a fairly large dog that sheds hair all the time, we went to wall mart and got 3 bath towels at $4.50 each. We cut two holes in the top for the head restraint in the front seat and just put the head restraint thru the holes and we have a supper washable cover that can be tossed back over the back of the seat when folks sit in.
The back seat.. we sewed the 2 towels together lengthwise then cut 4 little holes fort the head rests and draped the towel over the seat just like the front... anchored it with the 2 head rests.
A simple solution!
I will try to have pics up this weekend of our new Sahara!

Awesome...love the orange! Post pics when you can

Also, I came across these on a Jeep page...thought they were cool for a "towel" look.

Yes we have seen those covers and loved em! I was about to buy at least one of them but at $29.99 each I just thought it best to buy the towels for now! Towels at $4.50 each and you choose the color... we picked a light tan... kinda matches the interior khaki color.
Pictures should be posted today some time!
