I am waiting for Gecko to become available so I can order mine. Seems the 4dr with half doors is fairly uncommon. Those who have them how is it with just the soft top?

I ordered an extra set of half doors along with my order. It was expensive but I am hoping it's going to be worth it. Since I have little kids I don't want to go door less.

From what I hear and have read, everyone who has had half doors love it.

Sunny - I know where you are coming from. I have a kid on the way so no doors wouldn't be an option for me either.

Beastmaster - Your Jeep looks great! Green and black go together great. One of the best color combinations IMHO. Decided I just want the soft top so I don't have to bother with switching tops and finding a place to store the hard top when not in use. My garage is full anyways.

Nwbronco - your Jeep looks awesome. Seeing those half door pics only further convinces me this is the way to go. The half doors look 1000 times better when the top is down too.

haha is that a decepticons logo on your quarter? haha that is so dorky! Cool looking jeep otherwise. I guess I can't throw stones since my iphone is wallpapered with LCARS and my ringer is the communicator sound and my text sound is worf telling me there is an incoming message :))

Great look. Half doors look a lot better then I thought on a JKU.

So, being a Newb to the Jeep world, silly question but do the half doors come with the plastic uppers and how much is the setup from Jeep? Curious!

Yes, the half doors from the factory come with plastic uppers. I believe half doors are only available on the JKU Sport and JKU Rubicon, not Sahara. Although, I believe the order books, configurators, etc. only show them available on the JKU Sport and you'll have to argue to get to the Rubi configurations. Also, you won't be able to get the hard top at time of purchase or order placement. For the Sport, I wasn't able to get the S package, either, but that was OK with me.

Guys.. all these JKU's with half doors look BAD ASS.. im in the process of ordering a factory set. I have a few questions, Im not swapping anything out I want a complete set of both doors, with that being said.. can I Have the same Power mirrors and power locks that my full doors have? I noticed you cant order that from the factory that way.. but why cant i just order the same setup thats on my full doors ( power latch and power mirror ) and just run them through the door and plug em in? seems simple to me. Any body have the same scenario? OR any suggestions? I just called my dealer to get prices and they told me the full doors cannot be removed. that there is no disconnect for the doors.. what a dip shit.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone ever do half doors with a hard top?

It might be a silly question, so you can laugh at me here in this thread instead of me making a new one to be laughed at in. LOL
Anyone. Will half doors fit a hard top? Not a stupid question I hope. Lol

Newb here. Do half-doors really make a difference compared to full doors? It looks like they're about 6 inches shorter and more benefit in the rear then in the front seats. Seems like a lot of money to spend when full doors are only slightly higher and roll bar blocks the top of the full door frame anyway. What about the tubular doors as a less expensive option? Not trying to start a debate, but looking for education. Thanks all.

For me, it's a question of looks and feel, I have a 2005 TJ right now and it's not bad with the full doors but always wished I had half doors for her. I now have a Rubi Unlimited coming and have always found that, while still nice to look at (all-be-it a little awkward), the top off with the full doors don't have the same feeling of openness that the TJ has or that the half doors do. That and look at those pics! Awesome!!

There is an 08 JKU with half doors and a hardtop for sale on CL Richmond,Va. Looks good. The opening for the the front doors is much larger with the windows out. I wouldn't want to go back to full doors ever again. I never unzip my windows. I leave them in if it's cold or raining and the rest of the time they are out.

They look great. How are the half doors to handle, are they easy to remove and move around...like toss in the back? I bought the soft doors but if these are easy to remove and put on (full doors are a pain) I would replace the soft ones in a second.
