Lime Green? Yes...No?

What's your opinion on a 2007 lime green Jeep Wrangler X hardtop? I personally don't mind it, but I can't say it's one of my favorite colors on a jeep. However, I've been wanting a Wrangler for a while now, and this is honestly the cheapest one I could find. It's been reduced to $14,600 (dealership, only 11,800 miles). Not a bad price at all. Is it too girly (I'm a young male)? I would really appreciate any honest opinion, I know the decision is really up to me, but any help would be great!

thats all personal, i don't really like it. don't try to trick yourself into liking it cuz you think its affordable. wait for the right one. if you don't, everytime you see a wrangler thats the color you want, you're gonna say to yourself thats the one i wanted.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I might look a little more into it though. There are three colors I know I don't like, yellow, white, and silver. I'm on the border line for lime green.

I really like the green on the new Wranglers. It's not really a lime green, more like a modified military green.

I suppose you are referring to the factory color???

Rescue Green...and for that price, you could buy it, paint it, sell it, and still make money off it. Sheesh that's cheap!

I saw one lifted, 35's, black rims, winch, ect... with that color and it looked sweet. The color really grew on me. I say if you like it, for the price, grab it.

According to Kelly Blue Book, that price is real close to the average trade in price which is a real good price to buy one, but it's not "cheap" as some may be insinuating. Most dealers won't let one go for what they have in it so you might want to run a Carfax to see if there are some undisclosed details that aren't being revealed.

Make sure it's not a wreck rebuild, been in a flood, etc. There must be some reason the dealer is letting it go for what the trade in value is, they don't make money doing that. On the positive side, they may have it on their floor plan and the bank is calling in the payoff on it. In that case they'd want to dump it rather than put their cash into it.

Good luck and beware.

Regards,
Richard

PS: I suppose you know you won't get any drive train warranty on it beyond the basic 3 years or 36,000 miles.

right on, if it was the color you wanted you'd be posting up something like "wholly crap, here's the wrangler i'm getting and look at the price" not yes or no on green. and just so i can vote again, i don't like it. i do like it better than the brighter green. but it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Regardless of color, it IS a JEEP. If you can afford it don't walk, RUN to the dealership and get it!

Tell them that you hate the color and will give them $13,800.

That's the Jeepiest color there is, btw. Drive it with pride.
You'll get used to the funny looks, snickers, finger-pointing, and frequent "eeeeeoooooowwww's" that you'll hear.

My friend has one and it's not completely repulsive...

That's funny. I BEGGED for a Rescue Green one when I bought mine and the dealer looked 1000 miles out and there wasn't one with the options I wanted so I got #2 choice, RED. I was gonna' put WWII style Army logos on it and use it to help me Recruit... I'll trade you your green (assuming you got it) for my Red.......

A little update: I didn't get it. It's actually still for sale and I'm still looking but I'm looking at a black one tomorrow. I just don't trust the dealer that is selling the green one, it's probably a lemon. Finding the right Jeep when you are limited to what you can afford is a long long process. I might have to learn to drive a stick if I purchase this black one for sale. Hopefully I don't suck.

BLACK . . . now your talking . . . that green looks like snot when you have a sinus infection . . . yuck!!! Black is always the way to go, especially for a guy . . . show's the dirt better than any other color too which is only nice on a Jeep.

I looked at the black Wrangler today and I really liked it. Although he said it didn't have air conditioning, which isn't a problem but, I didn't ask if it were broke or it just didn't come with air. So do all 2007 Wrangler X come with air or do you have to pay for it? Also, as I was driving away I noticed something that looked like rust on the door. It could be just dirt since it's an 07 but according to the ad, the jeep has never seen the offroad or gravel. I feel like an idiot because I drove away not turning around to check it out again. So hopefully I'm wrong about the rust (I'm going to look at it one more time before I buy it), but I think I'm going to be getting my first wrangler!!

Be careful of black...it shows all kinds of marks. And that green is a cool color since it's rare!
