You should have made the letters backwards so they read correctly in the mirror. Nice jeep.

What year is your JK? We can NOT get our top down that neatly and snuggly and it's an '08

It's brand new, a 2010. It has a boot over it.

Yeah, I noticed the boot; it's just that ours wouldn't even lay down that much to allow the boot on! I mean, it looks neat and stays in place but not like yours. I think '08 was when the 4 door came out and I don't think they had it all figured out yet. The top is in rough shape already on ours!

Anyway, sharp looking ride!

Im in the same boat and mines a 2010. Makes me want to stop folding the top down and just remove it completely.

LOL, Steel02001! We wound up breaking ours at the knuckle joints.. rather we failed to tighten the bolts and they shook out over time so the top is a gigantic, floppy broken mess. Greg said it's actually easier to throw up now then when everything was all hinged together. It stayed down for the past four or five months, we only put it up because the ten hour drive to WV in pouring rain with lightening striking all around all bundled in rain jackets and squeegeeing the inside of the window and getting pissed at the non-jeeps that wouldn't drive a decent speed lost its novelty and we didn't want to do that on the way back home so it's back up now...

I think the four door is too big for it's own good when it comes to the soft top! It reminds me of a tall, gangly, awkward teenager

GAFaY, I looked at the picture of your JK in another post and noticed that you are not folding the sunrider portion correctly that is why it is not laying down all the way.

Well I'll tell you, Tnewcomb - when we bought it we had no clue how to do anything with it. The dealership (Riverside in New Bern, NC) SUCKS, no one knows a thing about Jeeps over there and they're all "yup, you did it right! better than we can do!" even after I insisted it couldn't be right, it just didn't look right to me. I finally gave up and assumed that's just the way it goes. It doesn't flop around or come up so I didn't really care anymore. I give up on things after a while. Us doing it wrong is likely to be part of the reason it's falling apart too.

Too bad you're so far away from me, we do a 'new owner clinic' every month, basically to go over things like how to properly fold a soft top.

Now that's what I'm talking about! That's nice a nice service! See, we bought a brand new '08 JK Unlimited (our very first Jeep); spending that kind of cash I expected better attention from the staff but I guess they just don't hire anyone that's knowledgeable. It's something to remember in the future at least. By then I suppose we will have become experienced jeepers though.

When you say "we" do a new owner clinic, who is we? Are you in Jeep sales?

Yeah, I'm a salesman at a Jeep dealer. I love it when people are genuinely interested in Wranglers, especially when I see them pull up in a ride with mods, I always spring out the door!

Oh, and we also sell Chryslers.

You probably have car salespeople at your dealership. I try to be a Jeep salesperson.

Yup, you've got that one right. I think it's a Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge/Jeep dealership. From what I've seen it is mostly it's where the older folks buy their cars. A Jeep saleperson is probably a rarity and a treat!

Thank you Tom! I need to send that to our stupid local dealership and tell them to take a lesson from it!

daggo66, Greg watched the video and said that the soft top on that 4 door JK is not the same that is on our '08. I wondered about that, b/c from my recollection of folding the top back, that first fold back doesn't go flat for the sunrider. hmmm..... but yeah, he says he wishes it was what is in the video!
