Nice, but, you were supposed to get a Vette and take off for Vegas with a stripper. You obviously didn't read the manual.

Nice jeep and welcome to the forum.

Remove the CHROME grill overlay. <--- just a personal preference. If you like it leave it.

Before you just go and lift it. Meet will some local clubs and go out with them and wheel it STOCK. You can get a feel for the jeep and what you need to change to make it perform to your wheeling needs.

OR if you don't wheel.. get a nice set of tires and have fun with the top down.

I took the funny silver covers off my Sahara bumpers. Chrome is one thing but fake doo-hickey silver covers are another....

Chrome and black always looks sharp. But you're running the risk of looking like a mall-queen if you don't mount more serious rubber, some lift, and some Armageddon-worthy tires.
Interco's M16 tires fit the Sahara wheels if you use a set of spacers. If you mount those, no Prius will park within 50 feet of you without wetting itself.

x2 on the chrome overlay. i am also not a big fan of chrome on a jeep, but if that's your thing than great. but i'd put a lift and some more aggressive tires. the size lift you need depends on how aggressively you are going to wheel it.

Chrome is a personal preference but chrome and black always looks good. But I agree with everyone else.....tires and a lift just make a Jeep !

As much as those good looks do for you when you lift dont forget the sound. My recomandation is a good exhaust system at least cat-back if not thrown in with some headers plus they help with the power. Dont forget to throw in a new intake to help it breathe best is a snorkal but nothing beat the sound of a good cold air intake. o yeah lose the ugly grille thing just black it out itll b sweet

Does anyone make the grille thing in black to match the fenders?

What would be the point, the grille comes from the factory black on a black Jeep.

Looks good. I think the chrome grill looks decent with the black. Throw a nice lift and some aggressive tires on it and you'll be all set. Most of all, just enjoy it.

Re: My jeep

Thanks for all the comments. I would love to get a lift kit and exhuast, but I'm only 16, and right now, I don't have the money. About the grill. I just always liked the way that chrome and black looks together, and, in my opinion, I prefer it over the black grill. I have that grill too, I just think that the chrome makes the Jeep stand out.

Hitchhiker, I was asking for mine, it's a white jeep and the painted grille is getting all chipped up from the cinders the DOT uses on the roads. Since I have no chrome accents anywhere else I think black would look the best.

Heres some pics of it with the hard top on. This is my other account. I put a chrome gas cap on it too, for those of you that don't like the chrome.

how do you like the JK? I was actually debating on getting one. Looked at a Rubi yesterday, but not sure if its what I want. I think the new Jeep is still trying to grow on me.

I, so far, really like the JK. They are a lot quieter than the previous models, and feel alittle more confey inside. If you're going wheeling and don't care about these things, than get one of the previous models, they cost a lot less. Also, the JK has the V6 as apposed to the V4 in the other models. Basically, if you could afford it, I think it's well worth it. Also, the lifetime powertrain warranty is a big plus on it. Finally, if you are deciding on getting a new or used JK, I would definately recommend buying the new, if your budget can. The price difference between getting an 08 or 07 is less than 3 grand. Also, the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty is only valid for the first owner, so this, in itself, could be worth more than 3 grand, so it could end up paying for itself, even though you may never need to use it. It just allows you to drive a little harder without worrying about messing something up. Hope this helps.

what good is a lifetime warranty when chrysler goes bankrupt. seriously though, that warranty is a joke. lets se what happens when people start using it. it won't happen much, and they will wiggle out of it. practically all it covers is a hole in the block or if the trans pukes, and they will start pullin out maintenance records, and sayin it was abused off road if you went through a puddle, and crap like that. imo its not a selling point.

and orange, you gotta decide if you like the more modernized, carlike interior to. personally i don't like all this new stuff, just me though.
and i know you wanna roll on some 20's with it right?

I haven't really looked into what the warranty covers, but whenever I ask my dealer he just says that it covers the powertrain. I do know that there is a lot of ways that Chrysler will say that the warranty doesn't cover it or is void. In my personal opinion, I like the more carlike interior, just makes the Jeep all that nicer. And I think that even if Chrysler does go bankrupt the govt will back up these warranties. But who knows with this economy.

i say soft top, definatly. why have a jeep and never see the sun? sure you'll be gung-ho at first, rally your bro's and removing the top. but soon your bros will say:"piss-off that top is heavy on my sparrows ankles" and you wont have that top off again. now, as for the new look... i was a skeptic at first. but i just got in one over the week end. my cousin got one (soft top like he should) and the thing is pretty damn kool. its the four door and im jelious of his storage ability. i'd love to get one, but im too poor. and i'd definatly have to have a cozy ride, AND a teeth rattler! but with a family it would be great and still keep the love of a jeep. i'd lift it...for you, and your budget right now, go cheap and get a budget boost and some 31's or 33's. Boy, i'd love to get ahold of my cousins ride. i'd jack the hell out of it, 6" no less long arm. the axles are good so no change there. 8" lift and some 40's on a four door JK is STELLAR!!! tall gears, and some external mounted junk and call it a day.
