New jeep, stuck in mud :)

(new to the jeep community) Got this jeep 2 weeks ago, decided to go off-roading for the first time, got stuck in the mud....yes I realize it has street tires but they have really good tread and I wanted to get out there while it was still warm, anyways I know i probably look like a noob but it was fun, fourwheelers wouldnt budge it so i called my stepdad and he brought his titan and pulled it right out...

You look like your learning thats all. And a good MT tire would have done wonders in that situation. My 30's got me through some real deep thick stuf a little deeper then what your in now.

Well who says you need to go get a huge MT? Did you test drive a rubi or ever been in one? If you like the ride of the rubi get some rubi take offs. Just a thought.

Yeah I def need to read up on them, just dont offroad enough yet to justify replacing basically new street tires, thinking about running these down then biting the bullet with tires, rims, etc

That makes sense but you could also just buy rubi take offs then sell your rims and tires to compensate the cost. Good luck with what ever you decide on. By the way good looking jeep. I think thats one of the best colors the jk comes in.

Make sure you wash your undercarriage very good, mudding not only wrecks your clearcoat over time, but eats away at anything rubber or plastic under your rig, other than that rooster tail the shit outta her!

Also keep an eye on the gap between your grill and radiator, when i was a young buck i blew a 4x4 blazer up because i mudded her all the time and never cleaned out that gap, she blew up going down the interstate due to rapid overheating

Btw the color of your jeep is awesome, that olive drab would look straight bad ass with all black aftermarket goodies on it!

will do thanks, and thats crazy that u said that, cuz ive been racking my brain trying to decide if all black would look good, i was afraid that with the paint being dark there wouldnt be enough contrast and it wouldnt look good but i love the blacked out look, cant find pics anywhere online of a olive jk w black parts

Nice Jeep and welcome to the club! It's good to see that you're already driving it like it's meant to be driven!

Is that what those aftermarket grill inserts are designed for or are the strictly cosmetic?

Once you're stuck, switching to 4Lo won't do a thing for you. If you were in 4Hi, I guarantee you were done in by ESP. ALWAYS turn it off when you are wheeling. You need to learn to fold that soft top, what a mess! Watch this video:

I have the same color and do have some of the black after markets. I am thinking of bigger tires and wheels as well. May go with the rubi style as the winters here are rough and I like mudding as well.

Know what's so funny about the picture of you being stuck ( it might just be because I'm on my phone) but I can't see any ruts of you going into the mud so it looks like you were just dropped from the sky there lol!

Nice! It's always good to break-in a brand new Jeep.

Rubicon tires won't really hurt your ride at all, but they will be a little louder on the highway. Great tire for the snow, too.

Also make sure you get yourself a proper recovery strap. You could kill someone with that setup.

Congrats on getting your brand new Jeep so dirty.

And I think if you had really great tires you would have made it about ten feet further before getting stuck.

+1 on the ESP,shut that dam thing off, also you could air down your tires to about 12 psi. it only took me 6 days to mod out my new mountain. have fun.
