A friend and myself did this last weekend and I figured I would post it up for all to see. I had rattle canned my Jeep in flat black last summer and it just did not turn out right. My friend suggested we go with Duralux Marine Enamel like what was on his. This stuff is pretty durable and takes quite a bit of abuse. This was the first round of pics. I will upload the remainder as soon as the email comes in.
The Duralux color is Duckboat Drab (Its pretty close to the Military Coyote Tan)
I was amazed by the results as well. For once we got the Florida weather to cooperate. Although it took longer than normal to dry due to the humidity. Here is another shot of the grill and cowl.

1. It was covered in scratches (I know its a Jeep, but the old auto detailer in my gets peeved)
2. I think it would have turned out more even if I had done the job in a shop and not outside. It was too hot and that caused some of the areas to flash.
3. True it did end well (And I got the Wife to buy into a new paint Job on the Jeep that is more durable than the previous 2) LOL
Looks a lot better now man! I bet it took some courage to paint it the first time, especially with rattle cans. Mine is all white and only 3 months old but covered in scratches. Thankfully they don't show on the white very much. At some point, I think I will do it in bedliner so I never have to worry about the sound of brush running down the sides of my Jeep.
Look into the Body Armor from Line X. It is a thinner coat that is just as durable as the bed liner. LINE-X Sprayon Bedliners, Protective Coatings, Truck Bed Coating, Floor Coating, Industrial Flooring
I had wanted to go this route, but with three kids it was not happing unless I got deployed again. Thankfully I met a fellow Jeeper that knows how to paint. I just put my body prep and masking skills to work and away we went.
I have no idea. Many times it depends on the area. I know our local place would charge you like $700 for the tub if you pull everything out. I never got the chance to ask them before we did the outside of mine.
