Talking Paint Color Code

Just got my half doors today and need to get them painted. Where do I find the paint code? My Jeep is a 2009 stock detonator yellow...thanks!

Its likely on the drivers door or door jamb on th einformation tag. Will most likely say "ext color" or "pnt" then a 3 digit code under that

You'll find the tag on the Driver's Door on your Full Door (Since you just bought the Half Doors.....).

FYI, Color Code for Detonator Yellow is: PYB

Also, If you're ordering Touch-Up Paint with the Brush application:

Mopar Part Number: 05163158AA

If you're ordering the Spray Can Touch-Up:

Mopar Part Number: 05163159AA

Com'on..... ask me how I know!

Let's see some pics when you get it all done! Always glad to see my Yellow Brethren & Sistren Jeepers out there!

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

Local Decal Guy, that does Auto Body Decals for a variety of Dealerships. I've had him do two of my vehicles within the last two years. Quick and professional!

Cheers!

I found the label on the door, after looking a bazillion times...SO...if I am taking my doors to a shop to be painted, I just tell them that the paint code is PYB and that will be enough information for them? Or do I need to take more info?

The PYB Code would be sufficient, however, if you want a spot-on color match, you may want to leave your Jeep with them for a few hours, so they can properly match the shade of it to the body panels. That's what I did.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

Do you remember what the cost was to get the door painted? How difficult was it to put the doors together...I hope I can do it!

Do I remember? Unfortunately, Yes! I tried my regular Auto Body Shop that I have dealt with for years, and was quoted a figure that made me laugh! I was also told it would be at least a week before I could get them back.

I then took them to my Jeep Dealer, and was quoted $675. I didn't laugh anymore, because it was damn near the price the Body Shop was asking for. The Dealer also said I could have it done and back in the same day. So, I went with the Dealer, and it was $654 actual cost. They gave me a bit of a discount, because I order most of my Mods through them.

As for the Door Assembly, I had JeepsAreUs do it for me ($100 per Door), since I am no longer able to do that stuff anymore. I'm mechanically inclined, just not physically able. I'm sure if you follow the directions carefully and take your time, you won't have any problems.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

What model are those? Factory OEM or aftermarket? I have detonator yellow as well and love the color!

The ones on mine are factory OEM...I ordered them through the dealership. Jeepsareus has them too, but I didnt pay shipping by going through the dealer. I had to put them together, but I saved a bunch doing it that way!
