I've been looking at making my 12 look like the willy edition TJ from 04-06. Here is the decal set for them. Invasion star for hood, serial number for side of hood, fuel stencil and willys logo. The only problem is the serial number is MB41-06TJ. For you it should say. MB41-11JK. I was thinking about going to a sign shop to have them custom make a personal serial number sticker.

Do you know the significance of what all the numbers/letters mean (except for the 11JK at the end)?
Not sure what the MB is but the 41 has to be in reference to 1941 the date of the original Jeep.

Ordered a set of MB41-12JK and the vendor also said he could make me up a set of TP 35 and FUEL decals 1 1/2 inch. Everything shipped out today and will post pics, now just have to order the 12" Invasion star. Heads up to ebay member signpainterchris he was a great help. :punk:

I did the same to my '07 JKU. I bought the stars on line and had the lettering made locally.

I researched and found out how the numbers usually went had them made according to the 1941 military format:
  • USA = (Obvious)
  • W = War Department
  • 02 = Jeep or reconnaissance vehicle
  • 09015 = Last 5 of my VIN
  • S = Suppressed for radio operation
I believe there are vendors here that can do the lettering, or you can look on line or maybe someone locally like I did.

I did this on my hood sides. Stands for 2011 JK built September 2010. Threw the WWII star in just cause I wanted to. Now I'm thinking of replacing the star with a regular hyphen and doing a large WWII star on the hood. I also have the star on the passenger side quarter panel.

I believe I am getting military decals on mine made up this weekend. US Navy theme. Looking at 3" anchors on cowl and USN 2010JK on hood with 12" star. My former ships name with 6" star above on fender USS CURTS FFG-38 with small US NAVY on rear fender above wheel

I like that.:thumb:

When people say they like my "Army" markings I tell them it's "Army Air Corps" :D

I measured the Rubicon decals on my hood and they are about 1.125 - 1.25" and they can be seen from a distance so I think I will go with 2"

I plan to put a star on the hood. What would look better, 9" or 12"?

Beastmaster, what size is the star on your door?

Well, Got my decals and working on getting them on. Have one side done now. Taking break. I come to the conclusion that I hate putting on decals lol. Not sure I want to try the hood star myself or not. Got a great deal. The whole package including 12" star for hood and a 6" star for tail gate was made for me for $20

Here is the passenger side I got done so far

USS Curts (FFG-38), twenty-ninth ship of the Oliver Hazard Perry class of guided-missile frigates, was named for Admiral Maurice Curts (1898–1976).
Ordered from Todd Pacific Shipyards, San Pedro, California on 27 April 1979 as part of the FY79 program, Curts was laid down on 1 July 1981, launched on 6 March 1982, and commissioned on 8 October 1983. As of 2007 she is on active service, assigned to Destroyer Squadron 23 and homeported at San Diego, CA.

I was assigned to her one month after she was commissioned. Was in Advanced Sonar school for the new system they were the test platform for. Even though we were assigned to the 23rd out of San Diego, we ported at San Pedro California outside Long Beach up until they reclose San Pedro and moved to San Diego.

I would but I have new wheels ready to go on that are already black. 15" MB Chaos. The only reason they are not on yet is I have great tires on right now and they still have good life and I hate wasting them. Hopefully this summer I will have my new combo on with 33's GY Duratrac's. It is hard though, knowing I have new wheels and they aren't on
