FFEMT510, based on your profile it doesn't look like you have adjustable rear control arms. How much clearance do you have on the front of the rear tires (to the pinch seam)? Do you have a pic?
I still have control arm adjustments ongoing, so I have not fine-tuned my bumpstops yet. My hope is that I can get away with 2" in the front and 3" in the rear when I get everything sitting in the right place.
Because a 2.5" Skyjacker lift is not equal to a 2.5" Rock Krawler lift. Most of the time, people net more than 2.5" on the RK lift. It also depends on fenders. A good baseline is that 2.5" of lift will clear 35's, and fenders free up about 2" (some more).
When I'm not forced to separate from my Jeep, I take mine off road. But I've only gotten to be with my Jeep 10 months out of the 28 that I've owned it--mainly winter months when the trails are closed. My choice for 2.5" was because I have a short garage, mainly. But in the end I really like my stance and flex-ability.
Here's a picture of my flexing with my 2.5" RK lift and 35's on stock fenders. The rear drivers fender was fully stuffed, but still clearance on the passenger front.
Close, we started with 3" of lift and 37/13.5/17.
Wanted a little more clearance so we cut the fenders.
Then we wanted more clearance and added a 1.25" BL
Pics below of just the 3"
Looks great! I'm having some axle work done and 37s put on this week. Are those Toyo MTs?
