Thanks, the trailer is a DIY fiberglass trailer from a company called Dinoot. I am planning an expedition to Moab next month and will have a thread about creating an RTT topped expedition trailer and how it performs on a 4000+ mile trip.

Thanks Don, the wait was totally worth it. Less than 750 miles and she is getting her upgrades on.

So far it's got 33x12.50x15 Duratracs on Level 8 Trackers from DTD and a Rampage Front Recovery Bumper from Amazon. Shopping here and there for discounts or used items got me the Mopar fuel door, Mopar tail light guards and Bushwacker Hood and Tailgate shield.

Happy with every mod so far so the research has paid off.

Thanks, no lift at all on it right now. That is a completely stock JKUS with Max Tow Package. All of my prior Jeeps have been lifted 2-4" with tall skinny pizza cutter tires so I decided to switch things up on this one. Only planned suspension is a Teraflex leveling kit, so far it rides even better than stock on these tires.

Hello Milkman,
Thanks for the info on the trailer, I like it lot.

How did you attach your front license plate to your Rampage bumper. In Missouri we must have front and rear tags as well.

Funny you ask, I saw on the Rampage thread people not running their front plates. I got mine installed at 11pm at night so I decided not to run the front plate but threw it in the Jeep with me.

I live in a small town and yep you guessed it, pulled over for no front plate. No ticket but the deputy said I needed it back on before he sees me again.

So this is what I came up with until I can fab up something more permanent (Obviously this won't work for offroad):

I wonder if a couple of drill and tap 1/4 20 holes would work right between the fog lights?

Milkman, it looks like you almost merged these 3 pics of my 2 Jeeps into your rig! Love the setup you've got going

Wheels, tires, bumper, and trailer all different, but I think we have similar taste....

My anvil Sport S hardtop is scheduled for dealer delivery on 10-3. I'm planning on installing side steps once I get it. I am thinking about chrome tubular side steps. I have only seen black side steps on the few anvils I have seen in person. I have the standard 17 in. Sport S aluminum wheels. What do you all think about chrome vs. black side steps?

I spend time on trails and I think chrome isn't as easy to "touch up" as black. Honestly, for me, chrome works well with dark colors with lots of contrast. Black, Navy Blue, Maroon, Charcoal Gray, a deep Purple. That said, I don't like chrome on Jeeps anymore. 15 years ago, I was a fan; today, not so much.

Chrome is flashy and needs to be shiny to look good. I don't spend a lot of time washing my Jeep. Except in the Spring, I give it lots of time in the rain during the spring. I don't wax my Jeep, I don't shine it up. I don't Armoral the interior and use special polishes on the black plastic. I spray the mud or winter-road-salt off the Jeep when needed and run it through a car wash when convenient. Chrome represents work that I just don't feel is worth my time.

If YOU like chrome, give it a try! If you don't like it, sell it and go black later

It's light enough color that it sets off the Rubicon Letters in contrast.
For the plain sport, it needs to be a bit darker, IMO.

SO, I'm mixed, I like it for Rubi and don't like it for sport.

My last one looked like this with the Willy's style theme:

I'm leaning to making it the Trail Hawk Edition Wrangler which doesn't exist (yet). Red just seems to go with this color better than any other accent even though I wanted to have it not look like a 10A.

I'm thinking remove side decals, add Trail Hawk badges only. Center blackout Hood Decal with red trim like the Grand Cherokee and WRANGLER in the 10th Anniversary style Rubicon writing on the hood with the red accents.

Other options are a throwback CJ style theme or something else entirely. It's crazy but I just like to have a theme around the Jeep and Anvil needs some pop.
Hey milkman, curious to know what theme you're working on, if you're still doing one. I have one planned for my Anvil and will put some pics up here when I get it. Still waiting for it. Currently in 100% inspection.

I've been bouncing back and forth between what I'm planning to do. I actually have my brother working on designing me a custom decal to base a theme around so stay tuned.

Got home to a couple of boxes on my doorstep. Opened them up and here's what was inside:

Who has the best wife ever....this guy. She knew I wanted better headlights for our trip but I wouldn't spend the money.

They look really good with the Anvil and the 2014 clear turn signals.

I saw a Rubicon today in Anvil with the roof and fender flares the same color, it looked sharp as hell.

How was the install? I have an incoming Anvil and was thinking about those exact headlights. Looks great!

Install was literally 15 minutes, easiest one yet. Unlike the trucklites that seem to be loose in the housing these are an exact fit. The only part that slowed me down was the trucklite anti flicker harness plug that goes to the headlight is really tight and doesn't seal very well. I ended up sealing the connection with some electrical tape.

I did have to adjust the headlights down but I also installed a leveling kit this weekend so that may be why. The cutoff is so sharp it makes it very easy to set. A cruise around town and some back country roads and nobody has flashed me yet.

Those lights look pretty sharp. Nice looking rig too.

It's a 3 axis hitch similar to JScherbs design located at the link below. I highly recommend it, it's quiet on the road and clears the rear tire a lot better than a standard ball hitch. Not to mention the flexibility it allows the trailer offroad.

Under $50 DIY 3-axis coupler

Looking good Milkman! Have you figured anything out on mounting the front license plate?

Wonder if I could get the mechanics at work to throw that together.... I certainly don't have the welder/heavy tools/precision manufacturing experience to trust what I might throw together.
