I'm not sure whose Jeep this is (I found it on Google images) but this puts people that say Anvil is boring to shame.. It makes me want an Anvil JKU over the white I had intended on!

I am looking for a new Jeep and I am interested in Anvil. Like several others, I have been somewhat confused about the actual color. This weekend I went to two local dealers that have them in-stock (one Rubicon and one Sahara). The colors are VERY different. They are accurately represented in the pictures below:

I was considering ordering a Rubicon X in Anvil....but now I am not sure which one of these colors I would actually get. Has anyone noticed a trend in models/features/options/ etc (ex: color matched hard top) that might lead to the more muted color (#1) vs. the darker/intenser color (#2) ?

Thanks.....

Same color, but the lighting changes the look...love mine, have had it four weeks and over 5k on it, WI thru CO to UT, then up to ID, Wy and back...tons of compliments along the way!

That's purely a difference in lighting. The first pic has direct sunlight, the second is shaded. In Florida, your Jeep will look like the first one more often, in Seattle, the second.

I would beg to differ, the second picture seems to be in direct sunlight as well. The only shadow there is the one the Jeep is casting.

I had mt JKU sport in Avil for a week and half, those picks are good example for what it looks like.
it somewhat changes color depending on what the lighting is.
especialy in low light situations.
it seams to be a 50% gray (half way from black to white) with possibly a little blue.
it looks green sometimes at dusk or dawn with orange sun set.
it somewhat takes on the the color of what it's facing.

Agreed. Yesterday, I saw them in the same lighting (overcast, light rain). The colors were distinctly different and very close to these pictures.

Ok, I phrased it wrong. The second pic was back-lit, or the sun was behind the Jeep, effectively allowing the Jeep to shadow itself. The first pic had the sun shining directly on the Jeep

Here's my Jeep in 3 different lighting situations, but same Jeep taken Friday morning, Friday night and just now:

Another pic, partially shaded by a tree and partially sunlit:

That may be the case. I'm planning to visit my Jeep dealer tomorrow to see the new 2014 colors in person. I'll keep y'all posted on what it looks like in person. I can't imagine "Anvil" having even a hint of blue, but who knows. It looks cool

I've seen mine look almost granite crystal at times, blue/grey, and grey

it all depends on the lighting. I wake up and wonder what color it will be today.
prob my favorite color vehicle I have owned or seen.

might have to custom paint it on my next jeep whenever this one dies.

Ive had it a short time and only have shown it to people at dusk or after hours and they say what color is that "green" another time "is that blue" it really depends on the type of light.
it's a chameleon, I'm thinking a good base color for some type of camo.
on my monitor the color averages out to be the jeep in the middle of the forum header. between the yellow and red one

It really is an amazing colour! I've had mine for a few months now and I park in the same spot everyday at work and my coworkers get a kick out of telling me what colour my Jeep is today. I even had someone ask me whose Jeep were you driving today when I replied mine he argued saying no yours is that anvil the one I saw you in today was green.
A lot of the pictures on the internet are promotional shots taken under bright lights and that seems to make the light blue come out, I've noticed with mine it's mostly varying shades of grey, sometimes a hint of dark blue and only under perfectly bright light does it show any light blue.

Hey there, I'm new here.... 2014 White Sport, White, Manual 6 sp, hard top...it replaced a Nissan Xterra that had its time. I'm not a fan of the anvil colour. It seemed something was missing when I looked at it.

Question: I have the stock tires P225/75R16's. Wanting to put more rubber on existing 16" rims for the winter and wondering if anyone had any suggestions on best tires?

Drop into the Anvil thread, knock the color, then ask for advise on tires? You DID buy a manual, so I'll give you a pass on the etiquette :-)

Duratracs are the safe bet. On those stock 16's, try for a 265/70, 275/70, somewhere in there should work out maybe

Very nice. Looks like you got the hard top? Manual or auto? I'm waiting for my Anvil Sport S 2dr manual to be delivered. Thought about the Rubi but out of my price range. Really love that color. Congrats.

Awesome Milkman!

Those are some awesome pics/views Milkman! Happy to see you made it out there. And your rig/trailer combo is pretty badd@ss and you couldn't have a better backdrop for it. Keep Jeepin'!
