Plati Dipped ENTIRE JKU. Before and after pictures...

First off, the process is easy. If you have the HVLP sprayer you should be golden. I have a few spots I got careless on that I am going to go back over and fix but at 5 feet you cannot even tell.

I chose a "camo" green because I really like the Commando JK color. I could have matched it closer with tints but since it is a matte finish I am not sure how it would have looked. I also did the wheels entirely black. Thinking about taking the centercaps out and doing them in the green to be matchy matchy.

I thought it turned out great. Really impressed and if I ever get tired of it I can just pull it off and go back to stock. Or, more likely, keep changing it colors like a mood ring.

Also, front bumper is missing due to waiting on F'n Fed Ex, I hate you Fed Ex.

Let me know your thoughts. Hate it, love it, impartial. Just would like to hear from you.

Thanks, I really like it too. I was tired of being so normal, I guess, with silver. This seemed like a cool alternative and way to tinker around.

35'' Nitto Grappler on 18'' XD Addicts. My personal favorite tire/wheel ratio. I enjoy a larger wheel than some. If I go to 37'' I will probably move up to 20s

Wow! Looks good, but sounds like a major pain is the ass. How long did it take you, and how much plastidip? Also, what does it look like inside, and on the door sills?

Not so much a pain in the ass as you would think. Me being a first timer was rough. However there are some intricate tips that are Jeep specific that I did not know about, which caused a few flaws. I will be correcting those tomorrow or Monday.

The absolute biggest pain in the ASS was masking off the top, especially the rear because the windows needed to be taken out to fill in the gap where the soft top overlaps in the rails.

Inside is still silver, but that will be changed as well. Doors will come off and I will mask up everything and get the sills and doors color matched. No biggie there.

As for how long it took me. Around 20 minutes to lay a coat down, 30 minutes dry time, and repeat for about 7 coats. That took roughly 2.5 gallons since I had a soft top, hard top would have been more.

Looks flippin awesome! The color looks great, did you mask around the door handles, lights, etc? Or spray it all and cut and peel?

Masked the handles, windows and trim, took off all the hood hardware, rear tail lights, wheels, sliders/steps, and top. Then had to make sure the rear was enclosed securely because of having to paint the soft top channels. Big headache for a first time masker.

You could have just as easily painted the windows. I went over the headlights, all emblems, fogs, and it peeled off fine.

I will probably be doing the rear bumper in a matte black to get some of that newness back into it as well, unless I decide to go new rear with Teraflex carrier-long way and a lot of dollars away though haha.

Wow looks really good! It's like you got a whole new jeep!

Don't forget to dip the front Jeep emblem. The letters will look so much better in black.

I know, that was exactly what my wife and parents said. Haha, I am so torn about that emblem. I know that the emblem and trail rated emblem are the only things that have chrome but for whatever reason I kind of like how it pops out.

More than likely it will be done black to match everything up.

Very nice. Now just add some military Jeep style emblems/stickers and call it a day.

It will be interesting to see how it holds up and if there is any long term damage to the original finish. Keep us posted.

It looks cool and I like the color. I can see this on a an older Jeep with scratches and marginal paint. Correct me if I am wrong but this is a new rig?

It will be interesting to see how long the plasti dip will last. Looks awesome, love the color.

If you like it you could consider a longer lasting product like Linex in that color.
