Question about a jeep i am looking at

Hey guys I'm looking at a 2007 Wrangler Unlimited 2wd. It's got 20,000 miles on it and they are asking 16,000. It appears to be modified somewhat. Since I really don't know much about me can you tell me what has been done to it? I probably will never really good off road but I really like the way the jeep looks. Do you think Im getting a decent deal. Pics are below.

Looks like just tires and wheels. Keep in mind, when your new jeep buddies head off road you will be left behind with only having 2WD.

Oh and welcome to WF.

Those are not stock bumpers, side steps or fenders.

2wd...That's like buying an RV without a bathroom. To me that is a bad idea. Why do they even bother to make them?

Like already stated, it looks like just some rims and tires and some bumper...not worth it considering it's 2wd. I'd stay away.

I counted $1900 worth of mall-crawling fru-fru, fenders that it doesn't need, and a pair of decent lights.
Dealer retail on Edmunds is $14,231 for the stock vehicle; you have to determine the value of the fru-fru to you.

Bear in mind that Jeeps don't handle very well, have much room in them, or get good gas mileage. We, as a community, are quite happy with this due to their off-road capabilities.
But this vehicle that you're looking at is a 2wd and has no capabilities off-road... ...those AT Revo tires will be okay on gravel, a little snow, and even a few rocks. But without 4WD it's just mini van...

If you really really love it, the price doesn't suck. But you can get brand new Wranglers for good prices too.
But you'll find no love here; sorry. It's like putting a dude on stage at nudie bar; we're not interested.

Really depends once again where you are. That model is fetching $16-$18k out on the west coast.

Keep mind that the only warranty you'll get is the balance of the 3/36. The lifetime drive train warranty isn't transferable. I'd suggest checking the price of a new leftover 2008 with 4WD and compare it with what they're asking you for this one.

As it ages it'll depreciate faster than other Jeeps due to being a 2WD. Over the long haul a new one may be better financially.

Did we scare him away with our answers? I haven't seen him come back since we all blasted the Jeep wanna-be.

Gee, my dealership must stay at least 199 miles away from the 2WD models cause I didn't even know that they exist in the JK. Mine's a decked out Rubicon and I'm lovin' it better than sex . No discount on the sex either . That's a lot of excitement but I trying to cope with it.

I would be just as happy with an older 4WD model. There just plain fun. First few hours in the Rubicon it was up to it's axle's in mud. Now it is winter and there is something about getting it to go sideways through the snow and ice that puts bugs in my bonnet (nice bugs) . It goes anywhere and does anything and does it in style.

2WD I just couldn't take it what's the point you get the idea.

Hope we didn't scare him off .

Hmmmm, think they make a 2WD Rubicon? Nope, just went to the website and it wouldn't let me. I think next time I am at the dealer, I am gonna tell a salesman that I want a Rubicon in 2WD and see what he says, lol.

Here in Utah I could have got a new Sahara 08' for $23,000 that was about 6 weeks ago the dealers were really trying hard to get rid of their 08' stock & with the recession as well I prolly' could have got them down some more. * DON'T* get a 2 wheel drive or you will be so sorry later, point is even if you don't need 4 wheel drive very often ,at least you will have it if you do need it. Just my opinion - so whatever floats yer' boat!
