Rubicon X Bumper Winch Option

I have a Rubicon X and am wondering if anyone has a winch installed other than a Warn Zeon. Just curious if any others fit. Let me see what you have.

Powerplant winch on Rubicon 10A (Rubicon X) bumper

I have a Rubicon 10A that has the same bumper as yours.

When I purchased mine there were no readily available options for winch mounts so I fabricated my own. I drew up the plans using 1/4" steel and had it laser cut, welded and powder coated at work. I installed a Warn PowerPlant on mine. I took some pictures the other day but realized during this post that I have to wait to download them as camera cable is attached to my home computer.

I mounted it between my frame rails. I did a custom mount for the fairing as the Powerplant has an off-center cable spool and the bumper is precut for a centered winch. I also had a vacuum pump bracket fabricated that attached to my winch mount that did not require the pump to be relocated.

I don't have mine installed yet for pics but I picked up a 10A bumper and have a Quadratec Q9500i winch I am putting in. I asked Maximus what I would need if I bought from them and here's the reply.

"To mount a Q9500 you have 2 options:
1- centered setup: part # 0400-013P-C-01 (requires cutting bumper
fairlead slot)
2- off center setup: part # 0400-014P-V-01 (requires cutting vac pump bracket)"

So all in all other Winches will fit with possible minor fabrication.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm thinking about going with the Smittybilt Gen2 X20. Seems to be around same size as a Warn Zeon. Does anyone have any thoughts on Smittybilt winches?

I generally don't like smittybilt. That being said I have never owned or operated one of their winches so I don't have anything to say about the X20.
