Sold! I put out a post to Morris on the Aries narrow flares. Also considering Pure Jeep. Metalcloak I really like but the skins for the rears are kinda meh. I am thinking LCOG and 2.5 with 37s for the win!
I will get a good pic up tomorrow in daylight. Just got mine tonite. RK X Factor 2.5 with Nitto Trail Grapplers 37x12.5x17 and chopped factory fenders and bumpers (for now).
The trims that will need done are not a function of the lower lift - they are a function of just the sheer size of the tires in the wheel wells. I had no clearance issues "up", just need some trimming "front to back". Even with 5 inches of lift, you would still be all in the air dam on a turn for example - just because the tires are wider. Even for a mallcrawler who would never really flex the tires out fully, even you will need to trim the air dam or your first sharp turn will trim it for you lol.
Since RK lifts move the axle back, you dont really need to trim the Rubicon rails. I am going to trim them in the rear (not front) tho anyways. You will jusssstttttt clear the rear at full flex - I want a little room for comfort. I am going to bring it even with the pinch seam (maybe an inch trim).
The rear body panel where it comes in back of the wheel well to a sharp edge - that will DEFINITELY need a good roll back or trim. At full stuff up on a forklift, it was long enough that it just squeaked between my tire tread and was probably millimeters from blowing out a brand new $400 tire lol. A mallcrawler on the street, you would be ok - this is only an issue when you fully have the wheels stuffed.
I most definitely would not go up any higher than 2.5 with a RK lift on a 2 door. It is just beneath the verge of that nearly tippy top heavy. Far more stable staying lower. If I had gone 3.5, I would be going back to the shop today to order new springs and come down to 2.5.
And folks who are shorter - that you need grab handles to get IN the Jeep is apparent. But dont forget to hang on them to get OUT. I did, forgetting I was much higher. Sprawled on all 4s in the parking lot lol!!!! Yes, I fell out of my Jeep.:jawdrop:

MMC I have seen a couple of your post on here and know you have said but can't remember. What loot did you go with? What else other then said kit have you put under that beautiful ride?
If it's not any trouble...could I ask you what the height of your Jeep is at its highest point? I have a garage that I would still like to get into...I planned on 2.5" lift...just wasn't sure if I was going 35's or 37's...this would help me determine . Thank you!
I am plotting my next move. I may most likely roll with the chopped stockers until I attend to the more mechanical issues first (ie upgrading tie rod, regear, knuckles, hydroassist....all spendy stuff) and then a bumper or carrier to get the spare out of my cargo area. (Yes a 37 inch tire fits in the back of a 2 door with no backseat - not much room for much else tho lol!) I like the trim job we did on the stocks so gives me a good idea what shape and width I want when I replace them. Unless Santa happens to gift me some fenders or a gift card perhaps. Or if I make it through the holidays with a better budget than I thought. If I do the gears and steering related stuff next month as I hope, thats at least another $4k-$5k. Decisions decisions. Just empty every pocket.

I've put 37s on my last two JKs. The prior JK was a 2011 four door that had a 2 1/2" Teraflex lift, flat fenders, trimmed pinch seams, and 37" Pro Comp's. This JK is a 2014 two door with a 3" Teraflex lift, stock fenders, nothing trimmed, and 37" Toyo's.

Slap, for the life of me I cant find my tape measure. If I do, will let you know - but got to get to wrapping gifts and holiday food prep for right now.
Slap, glad someone was able to get you the measurements.
I do not rub anywhere at full flex with chopped fenders and chopped bumpers. I think I have 2.5 or 3 inch bumpstops as well. You will need to trim air dam, fenders, maybe bumpers and maybe rear seam.
Where do you rub? What lift? RK lifts move the rear axle back an inch to not rub Rubicon rails. Are your shocks the right length? What backspace are your wheels?
At absolute hardest turn I just graze the front lower control arms enough to skim the sticker lol but not "into" the arm fully.
That measurements giving me some hope...I'm at a 71" height right now with the hardtop on. I have 78" of height on my garage door and it looks like I could go 2.5" or even 3-3.5 with 37's and be just fine.
It also depends on the tires. I have 4" lift with 2.5" bumps and Bushwacker flat fenders and my 37" Pitbulls are so close to rubbing I can't see that even working with a 2.5" lift.
The amount of lift doesn't matter, the length of the bump stop is what keeps the tire off the fenders. you have 2.5" bumpstops, and she has 2.5" bumpstops. You have flat fenders, and she has trimmed fenders that are the equivalent of flat fenders. I don't see why there is a difference in which one is going to have tire rub.
I think the difference is in claimed lift height vs actual lift height, and in how much up travel the suspension has at ride height. Some lift manufacturers will say it is a 4" lift, when it really is a 4" lift, and others will say it is a 2.5" lift, when it really is a 4" lift. My Teraflex lift is sold as a 3" lift, but it lifted my Jeep 4.5". And I'm running that "3" inch lift with 37s and stock fenders. Even though we all know you really need about 4.5" of lift to do that.
Good point. I am a 2 door and still factory bumpers and flares so I may get more lift out of RK 2.5 coils than a weighted down limo 4 door would get on RK 3.5 coils. (RK uses same coils so 2 doors will always get more lift as they are lighter.) My only "weight" is my skid plates right now. I also stubbied both bumpers, took a good chunk out of the air dam, and hammered in the back body seem in the rear wheel well. I know that my travel may be a bit more limited also since I stayed lower to avoid tippy and take advantage of the shorter wheelbase angles, and dont need the belly clearance the limos do.
Not my jeep but I wheeled with him in Moab for two straight days and it performed well 2.5" Rock Krawler lift. He flexed to the max and I don't recall him ever rubbing. He did rub at max turn on the frame but did not seem to cause him any troubles.
