Personally, I removed the rear light guards the morning after I brought my jeep home. Read some horror stories about someone taking a hit in the light guard and the whole cage pushing into the rear fenders instead of winding up with just a cracked taillight. I'd rather have to buy a new taillight than have to have body work done on my jeep. But that's just my .02 cents..
