Gecko paint on interior trim

I see many of you have used gecko paint to dress up your interior trim. How has it held up? We went to a body shop we have used in the past to see what they would charge to paint alot of the interior and they wouldn't due it. Said the paint wouldn't adhere well and would scratch and show wear quickly. Then I saw many of you painted your interior trim months ago. Wondering if we should just order some gecko paint from Q-tech and do it ourselves.

Awesome trailer! Do you have any more details on it? Restoration pics, etc! That looks fantastic with your Jeep! Well done!

No issues so far!
Be aware this color is very transluscent , surface area must be prepped & primed.
Go for it !

2012 JK Unlimited in Gecko Green. The dealership i bought it from, owns an offroad shop across the street, so before i even drove it home, i had them lift it for me. I usually do all that kind of stuff myself, but in order to keep my warranty, i had them do it.
I got a 3.25" Rustys lift with coil springs, shocks and track bars. I also had 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ tires wrapped around Fuel Octane wheels. I had another shop put some color matched green on the black wheels as well.
It will be a mall crawler for the most part , the 4wheeling is what the YJ is for.

Since the pictures, i have added some N-Fab step bars, Plasti Dipped the front grill and put some wire mesh inserts in the grill (gutter guards from home depot).

Love the silver wheels and white letters facing out. Black rims and tires blend together and make the vehicle look like the "bad guy's car" from a cheesey tv show. I know black rims are the in thing right now but I can't stand that look compared to a setup like this. To each his own.

Good luck getting the keys back! My wife drives ours everyday. I've seriously probably only put about 30 miles on it since last May!

I guess that makes it more special the times that I get to drive it.

thanks.

the "angry eyes" are headlight bezels from Quadratec (they call them eyebrows) i'll try to add the link below.
Logan Laboratories 100010 - Headlight Eyebrow Trim Rings in Black for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

they come in black but i painted mine to match the jeep (gecko paint also from quadratec)
now the paint took a while to arive - backordered or something

try them out first before you paint (an error I made) because mine did not fit exactly right but it might be because I have Truck-Lites and they are not shaped like the stock headlights. I had to cut a lot off of the backside of the bezels to make them fit (used a dremel tool - was easy)

I didn't use Gecko paint, but a different color. Seriously, just do it yourself. Get it cleaned, primed and do a few coats of paint on it. I waited about 20 minutes in between each coat.

This way, if they ever do get scratched, you'll have all the supplies and know how to fix it yourself.

At first, I tried the 'off the shelf' paint, but it didn't tie in well with the Gecko green (I'm too OCD). I ended up getting the OEM paint. It's been on there for 4 months and no issues. I cleaned up the items (speaker covers, grab bar, door inserts, vents, and dash inlay), white primer, a couple coats of Gecko, and finished with clear. I get nothing but compliments on it. I'll be getting some seat covers with the gecko green piping soon.

I didn't think I'd like this color this much. I was noticing the other day that, even dirty, it still looks good. I've always had dark colors (black and gunmetal) and this color, however obnoxious, holds up well.
