Thanks, gecko4. We had a '69 383 CID Road Runner before my dad bought this car. I didn't really like the new car because it was so hard to steer and only had a 318. Well, the R.R. wasn't Sublime and when I had this one restored I gave it P/S and a 426 HEMI. I only wish I had a child to give it to. Guess a niece or nephew will have to do!

If you can hang on for another 20 - 30 years, you never know and you might get my classic Jeep by then too!! ;-)

Thanks, I appreciate it. I considered them the final missing piece of my "Assemble your own AEV Jeep" build.

That does look good. What gear ratio do you have with those 35s? Notice any difference from the 33s you had?

I have 3.73 gears. Today's running around town seems pretty similar to the 33's. I have to make a longer highway run tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.

Put my 295/65/18 duratracs on today. Wanted to run them a bit before a regear to 4.10s in May, just to get a feel for them. I noticed the transmission sure does a lot of downshifting, often two gears at a time. I'm actually starting to get used to the green hardtop, I thought it was a bit much at first, but adding black helps.
Next up: line-x a spare grille black, and see how it looks.
Install 10A springs and shocks, hopefully to level it off.

Have you use a ProCal or something similar to re calibrate for the larger size tires? If not, that may be contributing to the hunting for gears your trans is doing.

I haven't done that yet. I've ordered a procal, along with the gears and Truetracs from the shop doing the install. These 33" duratracs measure about 31.5" installed, so I didn't think it would be that far off. Man, was I wrong. I checked the speedo with a GPS on my phone. The jeep reads about 8km/hr slower than actual. Your probably right about that effecting the shift points too, I never thought about that.

Taking baby steps for mods. Today I:
  • Installed those headlight "eyebrows" or "eyelids" (birthday gift from the wife)
  • Swapped my chrome "Jeep" hood badge with the MOPAR black version
  • Installed Daystar Hood Wranglers.
  • Added poly fill behind the Alpine subwoofer and speakers on the soundbar
  • Drilled 1/8" holes in the side mirrors (at an angle away from the Jeep) to let water drain after a car wash or rainstorm
  • Removed the silver Sahara bumper appliques/covers
Here are some pics:

I spent the past couple days installing my new Warn winch in the previously installed AEV bumper, which means redoing the bumper install basically. Also took advantage of the warm weather to put the soft top back on for the hopefully coming summer.
