The color is as far as I can tell an almost perfect match to the Gecko color. One of the reasons I went with full piping is because if the color wasn't a perfect match it would be harder to tell since it was really just an accent to the covers and not the dominate color.

I had a set of WO seat covers on a truck I used to have and made the mistake of getting a bright color as the dominate color. The covers faded over time from the sun and they looked like garbage after 2 years. Plus the lighter colors show the dirt so much more which make them look more faded than they really are.

If you search around the forum you can find some pictures of my wife's Jeep. She also has the WO cover but went with grey hibiscus. She's had them on since March or April and with the lighter color they are already starting to look dingy from the dirt. The drivers seat is a noticeable difference in from any of the other seats given it sees a lot more use. Nothing a good washing won't resolve but taking them off and on is a PIA.

I'm spraying both sets about once a month with the UV spray WO sells which I didn't do with the pair I had in my old truck. So far so good as neither mine or my wife's are showing any signs of fading from the sun and they sit outside with the top down a good bit. We also have spiderweb shades on right now with the heat and I imagine that is also blocking a good bit of the UV.

This is a copy of my order from Quadratec when I ordered them back in May. From the date of the order they took about 4 weeks to arrive at my door.

Below is part number, description, and price.

14163 4002 OKOLE FR 11-UP JK W/O AIRBAG & W/HEIGHT ADJUSTERS $239.99
14164 3002 OKOLE REAR 11-UP JK 4 DOOR MODEL $259.99
91084 6014 FULL PIPING COLOR-NEON GREEN 14 $39.99
91084 5012 FULLY PIPED SEAT COLOR-BLACK 12 $0.00
91084 6014 FULL PIPING COLOR-NEON GREEN 14 $39.99
91084 5012 FULLY PIPED SEAT COLOR-BLACK 12 $0.00
91085 9402 WHITE LOGO COLOR $0.00
91085 9303 ORIGINAL $0.00
91085 9101 FRONT SEAT BACK POCKETS-PAIR $24.99
91084 7014 SEAT BELT PADS-PAIR-NEON GREEN 14 $12.99

Hope this helps everyone and if there is something you still want to know about them that I didn't cover feel free ask (PM or otherwise)
Thanks, I'm just glad to know they match. I've been eying those in the Q-tec catalog for awhile. It's gonna have to wait a little bit though. Already spent the Jeep fund this month and I promised him he could get Knocker Rockers next. (He's kicking himself for saying he didn't need em the day I ordered mine. Got mad as soon as they arrived and he saw em in person.) And I'll have to get him a set with red piping so yea, I have to wait. lol

His and her Jeeps is cool and all, but it's just like the twin kids. Gotta buy 2 of everything.

Yeah we go through the same thing here. The rock sliders I just installed were the first mod I only did to only one of them because she said she didn't really want them on hers. Then I installed them and she decided they weren't so bad after all and that she could live with it if I wanted to order her a set.

I have two of the terraflex hinge carriers showing up on Friday to install this weekend. Just like always she will want me to do the mod to mine first in case I screw it up before I figure out the right way to do it.

I wouldn't have it any other way though. It is nice to share the common interest with her.

Ordered the chrome gecko from ebay for $8 bucks and a few hits of plastidip i say its a pretty cool cheap aesthetic mod

Removing the "Sport" was the most time consuming part but a hair dryer and some 3M adhesive remover made quick work of it

Stupid Iphone washed out the last two, ill get some better ones later

LMAO he always does stuff to Harley first too. Fender chop day was the funny one for me. Shocked the heck out of me the day we did bumpers. I walked outside and he already had Ivy's bumper pulled off. Think he might finally be getting over the fear of screwing mine up.

It's really a lot of fun sharing this hobby with the other half though. Glad we aren't the only couple on here that agrees. Expensive, but fun.

Awesome!

Every time I see a 2 door it looks just a bit off to me. Just the Gecko.....maybe because I see mine with 4 doors everyday.

Either way nice Jeep!

Love all the Geckos and their mods. There are a lot of creative owners out there.

While shopping for one, I couldn't help but think I have seen this color before and last night, it came to me. In the late 1960's, AMC had colors for the AMX and Javelin designed to appeal to the muscle car market. One color was called Big Bad Green and when I looked at it here:

The Big Bad Green AMX

I suspect I know where the Jeep folks at Chrysler got their inspiration!

As a fan of late '60's muscle cars, I approve of this message! Thanks for the post! Showed the wife to prove that the color has a long and glorious history. She laughed.

Funny you mention that. I was at a drive thru today and the gentleman taking my order said that it reminded him if the old muscle cars. Either the old roadrunner or maybe challenger...can't remember now.

The old muscle cars definitely come to mind when you see this color. I saw a pic of it on these forums and immediately knew I wanted one. But then again I've been looking at stuff like this out my Brother n Laws shop for years. Tried plenty of times to convince him to give me a pretty wedding gift. He always says no. But hey, I've got the color now, maybe I just need to put a hemi in it and I'll be good. lol

The Superbird was the vehicle I thought of when I first saw the Gecko. I didn't realize how close to a spot on match the color was. I think one of these would look fantastic parked next to the Jeep!

Just my $.02, I love my Gecko, but there's also the notion of "too much of a good thing" to consider. I do love those seat covers with the Gecko trim, it's a great accent and it looks like it should have come from Jeep that way. A refreshing break from today's monotone interiors. Looks perfect!
On the wheels, well, your second idea might be the better of the two. As always, go with YOU like, you already know that's a big part of the fun.
Congrats on the new Jeep, it's going to look great what ever way you decide to go.

After seeing this, I must have it!! Lol, what brand/color paint did you use? is it holding up well? Its the small, simple things like this, grab handle, and grill inserts that I can't wait to get started on. They really tie it together nicely!

I bought a can of Mopar Gecko from the dealer. I think Quadratec carries it too. It's holding up well, it's only been a couple weeks though. Sometimes I look at it and giggle like a school girl because I like it so much.

i'd go with the second option. makes it look more like an accent than a "scream-in-your-face" mod.. but as many have stated, in the end, go with what YOU like best and forget what others tell ya!
