Stock bumper stubby

So I have been toying with the idea of making my stock bumper a stubby. I am thinking about doing the plastic welding method. I have seen some good looking ones from people but most leave a little stub on the end. What I was thinking about doing it where the stock front bumper has the "bulge" in it making it stop right there. Anyone done this?

Here's a pic of a stock bumper with the VDP end caps. Right where those touch the "bulge" is where I am thinking of stopping and stubbing the bumper. Any opinions? Or anyone done it?

Thanks

I cut mine about an inch or so outside of the bump for the crush cans. I left a little bit hanging off, then made some endcaps out out the pieces I cut off. To get it back together, I used self tapping screws then put some silicone in the gaps between layers. Then I used a flap disk on an angle grinder to smooth out the edges and bedlined it. I got an extra bumper to cut up so I took a couple days to do it but it can be done in one day

That looks really good man. I think I may go that route as well :) nice clean look and makes it shorter then the VDP caps. Quick question.. Did you just self tap the screw into the metal bumper underneath? May go with rivets for that. This seems easier then the plastic weld method :) thanks for sharing
