I took my JK in today for the annoying door pillar rattle. The service guy even read the printed posting I got off another board about the door latch. Turns out there has been a TSB out for about 2 months about this and the fix is to lube the latches with something called Krytox grease. Took an hour (only cause they had to go and get the grease from another dealer). Have driven on and off road for about 4 hours since and have not heard the rattle once. I looked at the latch when I got home and the grease looks like white lithium. Might want to give it a try if you don't want to spend an hour at the dealer.

If you take it in tell em to look up TSB 23-024-08
the part number on the grease is 05019060AA (enough to do 4 doors)

The service guy even printed me a copy of the TSB.

side note: The 09 SRT8 Challenger they had in the showroom was sweeeeeeet! And the new Dodge Trucks look Badass.

Am I correct in reading this thread that the door pillar rattle is only or most prevalent in the 4 door model? If so, I would presume that the pillar is not quite as rigid as in the 2 door. When shutting the door it might give just enough that the latch does not close completely around the Nader pin or in this case Nader u-bolt. Then lubrication gives it just enough less friction (oxymoron) to latch completely.

According to the TSB, it is for both 2 and 4 door models. I wish I could post a clearer copy but the scanner at work only scans to pdf files and you cant post those here. I had to convert the pdf to get the one I posted. If yours isn't rattling, that is good but if it starts, you'll know what to do.
