Bumper Pictures!!!!! Im looking for something cool!!

Ok, so lets get some pics of bumpers front and/or rear up here. Im trying to decide which ones I want for my 2002 TJ. Any comments on mixing brands of bumpers for load compatability (jack, lights, etc)??? I'm looking forward to all the pics and ideas.

Making it your own is quite easy if you consider it, I made one for a friend vitara and im not even an experienced welder, we made a model in cardboard, then draw those pieces on 2mm plate and cut with an angle grinder, it was veary easy and cheap, this is how it looks like:

Nice Pic Gunner, what brand is the bumper? I know its not a "warn", but has the same style. Do you have the matching front for this brand? or did you go with something else that was more compatible for what you need up front?

That is a good idea, I wish I was that talented to weld my own, but dont have the equipment.

My front is an ARB Bull Bumper that I got from Quadratec and the rear is a
Highrock from Morris 4x4. One reason I got the rear was because it had the integrated hitch which allowed me to get rid of the one that was hanging from the frame. Some day I'd like to get one with a tire carrier.

I completely agree with you on the tire carrier. My hope is to buy one as a complete unit when I buy it, but we'll see. What are you currently using for that big 33 (35?) on the back, it looks great mounted like that. Ive heard if you use a mount that is on the tail gate, that it can warp it, have you had any issues by having it mounted that way?

The bumper is an older fab fours lifestyle bumper. I had never seen one before. The guy selling it had no clue what he had. I had to cut out a couple small supports on the inside of the bumper with a torch then shorten the stock bumper and weld it inside. Brackets could probably be made, but they would cause the bumper to stick out too far

Are you into fabrication?

I made my front and rear bumpers AND swing away to suit my needs....

Front: ( gotta love old pics... lol )

REAR... ( man, old pics... lol)

Swing away:

Like I said... built for my needs... the receiver on top of the swing away is used for a few things....

Rear: Stock bumper still with the ORFab tire carrier set-up. Love it, and I don't mind the looks and durability of the stock bumper, but I'll probably replace it at some point with something simple that at least has a receiver.

Front: Smittybilt Stinger, I love the way it looks and I couldn't resist the price when it was on sale ($199). I know Smittybilt has a bad rep, but this thing is simple and durable and that's all that matters to me. Has room for a winch at some point and mounted on easily without any extra work, just straight bolt on.

I really like the pics. Nice job Marine. (Im a retired Jarhead myself). I wish I could pre-fab but dont have the equipment or the talent. That is an art you have obviously perfected. You should sell those to Jeeps you know they would fit on. Semper Fi!!

Thanks... Just thought I would throw the option at you.... fab is in my blood for as long as I can remember. I only have about 24 man hours and about $200 in parts and materials in all of it. Scrap metal yards are your best friend.

I used to fab stuff for others and sell what I made... when I had more time... and the drive... not anymore though... lol...

Semper Fi....

Front was 180...Rear was 449....both included shipping. Spyder XRC front, Crusher HD rear w/ carrier. Just kept it simple and the price was where i wanted to stay. Re-enforced the rear with frame tie-ins....front strengthened with a few welds.

I have Garbin Industies wilderness rear (old style with bolt, not quick clamp) it rattles offroad an it's really annoying

And I got my front off Craigslist a while ago, not sure of the brand

But when I get the money, I'm getting poison spyder bfh trail stinger front and rock brawler rear bumpers.

Mine is an out of production unit. But you can see that it will handle any reasonable size tire. And I like carrying the jerry cans lower. Think I am going with the Savvy Offroad front.

You've got a Jeeperman Front bumper with a double hooped light bar on it. Just stumbled upon it looking at jeeperman rockers!

It is mounted on an after market carrier that raised it about tree inches. I think I got it from Morris, but not absolutely sure. I definitely would not hang more than a 33" tire on the gate. The one I have is a 33x12 and it hasn't warped, but I can tell you, there's more weight on there than I like to see.

Thanks for the info. Im wearing American Racing "Nitro" wheels, and although aluminum, are still very heavy with the 33's mounted. Im almost surprised theres no warpage as thin as the tailgate is vs the weight. But good to know that its worked for you so far. I may try it.

Wow! What a killer Jeep! Could you provide a link to these bumpers? Damn I wish I had waited for a yellow one when I see pics like that.

Looks great, I've been considering this front bumper myself but want the rear to match. The ones I've found that look like your rear are only for JK's. Can you post a link to the rear bumper for me?

To alice the cat: the front can be found here: SPYDER FRONT WINCH BUMPER W/ D RINGS- JEEP WRANGLER 97-06 JEEP TJ + UNLIMITED | eBay

My front is a custom fab my Dad and I did, but a lot of people say it resembles the Shrockwork bumper. We based it off of an Overkill Engineering TJ Bumper, can't complain. The rear is a basic SmittyBilt and it rattles to high heaven, does the job but I will upgrade at some point.
