First time poster! Just discovered Plasti Dip and decided I would give it a shot on my '99 TJ. It's removable so what the heck.
I sprayed my wheels first and am really happy with the way they turned out. I missed a few spots and will need to tidy them up but I'm happy with it for a first try.
Next I tried the dash and am less enthused with the results. May look better if I add some more tan accents to balance it out but either way, it was a fun experiment and I can always remove it.
Interested to hear any feedback/other ideas for Plasti Dip. Thanks!
Be aware of curves/angles. I started off spraying everything from a flat angle thinking that if I stayed 8-12 inches away everything would cover evenly but I realized you have to walk around the tire and angle the can with the curves.
For each coat (it takes at least 4), hit the hard to reach curves/angles first. They usually lead to a lot of overspray. If you do them last then you end up laying it on too thick in places thanks to all of the overspray.
I just removed the dash and rubbed it down with alcohol for cleaning. I'm thinking about spraying that middle strip of the passenger side airbag cover. For that I'll use masking tape and trash bags.
When I have used rattle cans of Plastidip in the past, I put them in a bucket of warm water when it is cool outside. It makes it go on a little smoother (less texture). Tons of tips on youtube also.

was the dash black before or did you spray it tan? I think it looks great! Seat covers also?
