Question lifts with 31 10.50 or 32 11.50

Hey guys

just picked up my first jeep its an 06 tj with a 2.4 its only been a month and im in need of lift!
its currently stock i do have a set of 33 11.50 thornbirds but i think they may be a little much to push with the stock gearing which are 3.73s with my 6 speed so im lookin into different options please show me yours jeep with 2 to 4 inches of lift with anything from a 31 to a 33 inch tire

all pics are greatly appreciated!

3" with 10.50x33's This is with stock 3.73's and auto trans. Gearing seems fine till it hits OD then it lugs at 55. I need to get some more pictures

I'm running the same engine and gear ratio and have 33s. It's not too bad to me just won't get into 6th much which I never did before. It's really just something you'd have to decide because it's how the driver feels. Everyone likes it different

I have a 1998 with a 2.5 and 4.10s and currently I have a tj rubicon suspension on it i was able to comfortably run 33s on and offroad in 5th it will lug unless Im going about 65. This also requires a bit of fender trimming but nothing noticeable.

so it sounds like unless i regear its gonna bog down when highway driving on the 33s so my next question are 32 at's gonna be a noticable differance from a 33 thornbird or should i just put it on 31 10.50 mud terrains

One pic is my TJ, 2.5" lift & 31" tires, other pic is same thing, 2.5" lift but 32" tires. The new tires give me death wobble at 40mph even with a steering stabilizer. (Maybe I need to upgrade the SS) but it also has less power going up big hills. The highway is a little sketchy. I could easily do 75 with the 31's but I don't wanna push 65 with the 32's, it feels unstable. But i couldn't be happier with how it looks.

OME heavy load on 32x11.5
I have 32s with the 4 cyl and 4.10s and it's definitely tolerable. Just expect to have to downshift going up steep hills if you want to maintain your speed. The thornbird 33s would probably be a stretch, but they might be fine since they are skinnier. I plan on regearing whenever I go bigger.

Here's a pic of my Jeep with 31" Goodyear MTR's with a 3" Rough Country Lift Kit. It handles well on and off the road.

Thank ya and It's advertised as 2" but I got closer to 3" and I have a 3/4" coil spacer in the front. I definitely recommend the kit it rides great.

2in lift with 31x10.5x15 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's, want to go to 33's but since it's my daily driver I'd rather not sacrifice the gas mileage at this point

Y'all with the 4 banger / 5 speeds I have the same setup with the 4.10's. I'm planing my setup she's is going to be my DD/WW 2.5"lift is on its way and now it's on to tires. I'm thinking 31's but want 32's! I need to hit speeds of 60-70 just to keep up. Think the 32's will be ok there is also a few hills but not to bad. thanks in advance!

Here's a couple of pics of something I found interesting when pulling in to work this morning- both TJs with a 2in BB, 31x10.5 wrangler authority tires, the only difference being wheel offset. Thought it was cool to see how much that changed the look of the stance (mine's the blue tj on stock wheels) :

Any idea what the backspacing is on that other jeep? I love the wider stance...

I like the stance on the stock wheels. Looks classier and makes the jeep look taller.

I don't have this Jeep anymore, but still have the memories. 1st and 3rd pics are 33s, 2nd pic is 31s. Both on a 2.5" Skyjacker lift with springs and control arms. The 33s were good only rubbed at full flex. Could have solved that with flat flares.

2" bb with 32s I have the 4.0 factory gears 5 speed and it still runs good on the highway, not the best but if the wind is at my back or there isn't wind I can get to 80 but for the most part 60-70. o well it's a jeep not a corvette

ID:	942818 It's a 2" lift with 31/10.5 mt's. Even if thinking about 32" I realy like the rig and try to stop myself from moding it to much for a dd.
