There are some nice LJs in here. I was looking for one since December, finally found one just 3 weeks ago. Got lucky cause its a Rubicon as well, with only 56k on it. Gonna start fabrication on front and rear bumpers within the next few weeks. Only hiccup so far is the transfer case linkage was rattling, so I just bought the Novak replacement cable....

I just ordered it today, comes in on monday so I will post next week. Mine is a pain as well sometimes it goes easy and sometimes it's hard as hell. From what I have read on this cable it should relieve all of that...

Awesome LJs everyone!

I picked this one up a few months ago. It's a bone stock 6speed, but not for long. My plans right now, which are subject to change as I do more researching, are a savvy/currie 4" lift, 1" bl mml and tummy tuck, 35s, 4.88s, tom woods ds, upgraded steering/brakes, warn 9.5, front and rear bumpers (maybe warn, but undecided) with the tire carrier. That's about as far as I want to go with it while it's my DD but I'm looking forward to letting the flood of mods begin.

Here is my 05 LJ. 5.13 gears with 35x12.50 KM2. I move out of a YJ on 37s and it was getting less and less street worthy. Sold the YJ and a motorcycle to fund my Jeep addiction. The additional room on the LJ is more than worth the trade. It has made a few trips to CO on its own (no more trailer). There is nothing better than camping in the Rockies when it is 100 plus in Oklahoma.

So one of my buddies just got an LJ from his grandfather as a "gift". Heck of a gift? I know.. and it only gets better, its a 2006 Lj Rubicon with 12k miles. Yes 12k, haha no lift kit, stock rubi rims with 31 inch pro comp mud terrains I believe, anyway im posting in the LJs to get an idea of what he would have paid for this thing if he would have bought it, just curious from all the LJ owners out here.

Thanks. Been looking since December and when I saw this one the color won me over, and then it was just getting better the more I looked at it.

It bounces a little bit, but no noise or flapping. I'm guessing over time the bungee cords will loose strength. But they are replacable.

am hopefully installing my spiderwebshade this weekend. any suggestions on removing the OEM top and frame? I am going to go frameless on another top for rain and cold weather.
txsmokeater, I see you are in Deer Park. I grew up in Clear Lake and you guys were our #1 competitor in HS basketball, many years ago..

Any LJ owners know how/if you can break down the Bestop bow system? Trying to ship one and I cannot figure this out. FedEx told me I'd have us a freight company, they wanted $220. This thing has to breakdown somehow!

Yep, been in Deer Park my whole life. Our biggest rival now it la porte.
As far as the top goes, I had the soft top folded down and it was a breeze putting on. The soft top frame didn't get in the way at all.

4" lift's

I lifted my 06 Unlimited Rubicon with a Pro Comp 4" system. They lowered the transfer case skid plate. My questions is, did it need to be? or does my Rubicon have a slip yoke eliminator on it? Any one know? Thanks for the help. Chad.

I have the same lift. Got rid of the stock skid and went aftermarket.

Here's a little tidbit I picked up on the trail at EJS this year. I was speaking with one of the Jeep Engineers who helped design the wrangler for the past 15+ years and he said that, internally, Jeep used to call the Unlimited TJ a "TJD" which stood for TJ Derivative or the Derivative of the TJ. I thought that was interesting.

Here's a shot of my LJ coming up Moab Rim last week.
