2004 LJ 42rle Auto

Just picked her up July 2018. 33 inch tires, 2.75 inch junkyard lift, adjustable track bars and Grote LED headlights. Revolution 5.13 gears just came in today to replace the stock gearing. Plus one picture of her last month when she puked her antifreeze....and the winch I won at Jeeptoberfest....Ocala, FL.

Awesome! Well, except for the antifreeze part.

Ran across this one. Lightly modified by the PO. Looks like he did a really nice job. Ive been without a Jeep for a couple of years, and it was time to scratch the itch. Never had a LJ, so this should be exciting. I thought about holding our for a Rubi, but after realizing I never really wheeled my last Rubi like it was meant to be, I really don't need lockers and a 4:1 for the type of wheeling I do.

I'll toss some pics in this thread now that our LJ is a little better looking. Mechanically pretty sound when purchased, aesthetically a little rough (cheap flares, repaint that was part rattle can, etc).

My additions:
New cooling system
All new fluids
New oil pump
New A/C evap
New door, window, and tailgate seals
New axle seals and bearings
Nitro 5.13s
Detroit TrueTracs (x2)
Novak T-case linkage
MBRP exhaust
LED interior lighting
Crawler Concepts rear bumper
Bestop tire carrier
BedRug interior kit
Corbeau seats
GenRight aluminum 4" fenders
Havoc Offroad winch
Trucklite LED headlights
Centric rotors and Yellowstuffs

Now painted Ford avalanche gray - pics were taken on the way home from the paint shop.

Going to hack up the front bumper next to make it a stubby - having a bumper that extends into thin air bothers me. Then maybe new wheels? Hardtop for the summer? Otherwise, I'm into maintenance mode and we'll see how many more miles the old 4.0 has in her.

It's been a fun project so far. I think it's been about 3 years since we bought it? First Jeep, we're hooked. I love it.

Picked up this 84k miles light khaki metallic LJR a couple weeks ago. It's pretty much everything I want already. But I have already swapped the headlights to JL speaker ones, and I have a new Warn VR10 EVO waiting to go on.
Has OME 2.5" lift
1" body lift
JKS quick disconnects
JKS adjustable upper and lower control arms all around
new brakes, transmission serviced
full time lockers mod
Mopar bluetooth NAV headunit with memphis and JL speakers
Hard top, soft top, sun shade, bikini top, toneau cover
seat covers front and back
Warn 9.5 winch with synthetic line, Warn recovery bag kit
weathertec mats everywhere
windows tinted
poison spyder rear corner armor
front and rear Mopar rock crawler bumpers

@MrHolland - I think they're called Moabs? They're OK. Better than the junk that was in there (nasty). They feel a bit narrow and outside of that they're a pretty basic seat. My neighbor has the Trailcats though....I couldn't then but wish I spent the extra $$$ on a higher end seat. I used the Corbeau mounts and also wished the front was a bit higher, though I can probably fix that myself.

End of the day they aren't uncomfortable. Maybe on long drives. They look nice, seem to be wearing well, and are easy to clean/dry off (vinyl). Not a bad Jeep seat.

You won't regret it. I appreciate the better driving characteristics and the wheelbase seems perfect off-road. Add on actually having space for your crap in the back and it's a winner. I can get my cooler and rubbermaid bin of recovery gear in side by side (lengthwise) just by folding the rear seat forward.

New member with new (to me!) LJ

Hello,
New member from Oregon with 2006 LJ just turned 70,000. It came with a soft top and after looking around I purchased a Rally Top (that I hope was a good choice) with split rear windows. Changed all the fluids & serpentine belt. Looking at new shocks and possibly seats as they feel wore out.

Wow...that is incredible. I was convinced I had the lowest mileage LJ when I bought mine two years ago with 11k miles. Also an LJR in same color as yours but an 05....

Can I ask what you paid for it and what part of the country did you find it in? What's the story behind it?

I keep mine in my barn and drive it only when I'm positive it isn't going to rain, etc. I know, I know - it's a Jeep! However, having owned about 14 Jeeps over the years I know what I have and want to preserve it. My DD is a Gladiator but the LJR sleeps inside!

06 lj Rubi journey
Bought it stock, 3 years old with under 40k miles. Armoured it and ran it to Utah ever chance I got. Had a semi back up over the front, this the primered Hood in the second pic. Decided I wanted to go for a custom brick red and black look and had it repainted and all the armour powder coated. I've done every bit of work on it, and just about everything on it is a Rokmen product, and the 2.5" lift has made it walk through every 8 rated and below trail in Utah and most in Colorado. Absolutely hate it but will be selling it soon, to start the next project!
