All these LJs are beautiful. I had a 2.5 5-sp 93 YJ for about a year before I got into an unfortunate accident and sold it off a year-and-a-half ago. With the kids and dog and everything, a JKU would be ideal, but they're too darn expensive and I prefer the 4.0 with manual trans setup.

All I'm up against now is the $ of LJs, especially around the DC area. $$$$$

Especially liking desertkel's LJ... did you end up listing it? I don't think I saw it in the classifieds section, or perhaps you listed it locally?

Thank you! No, I haven't listed it yet. I just returned from a trip to Death Valley (in the JK), and am now preparing for a trip to Anza Borrego. I will list it soon after that.

I'd be interested in speaking to you about the LJ... when you get a moment, could you PM me with what you think you'll be asking for it? It's a long-shot with me being on the east coast, but you obviously take great care of your Jeeps. Cheers, and best of luck with your upcoming trip.

Here's my 2005 Rubicon with and without my overlanding trailer. I'm getting 295/75/16 BFG KO2's tomorrow and plan to paint the Moab rims black. I'm currently on 265's and need a bit more tire size.

How are you liking the 4:88 gears? I need to upgrade but was thinking 4:88 would not be enough, but I know the front diff wont hold anything lower. Sorry - not trying to hijack a thread.

The jeep drives great and has good power off the line. I really don't have anything to compare it to as far the difference in another gear set up. I do know 4:88 is as low you can go with the Dan 30.

Good afternoon.

Not true on the D30 gears. I have a package deal on 5.13s for the D44/D30. Two flavors of bearings to choose from in the master kits. Timken (who was purchased by Koyo in Dec 2009) or Koyo bearings. Your choice of either thick or std gear as well. Thick for 3.73 and down and std for 3.92 and up carriers.

See the Koyo packages here. Second row down.

Have a blessed and prosperous day!

Allen

Battle,
you can go lower than 4.88, the issue becomes how strong is that ring gear as it gets thinner. If you plan on rock crawling, you may end up breaking a ring gear while you are out on the trail. Not always a fun event.

Any of you guys looking for the stock LJ Rubicon diamond plate rocker guards? Mopar PN: 82209219. I removed mine at 58,000 miles and installed Poison Spyder's.

BTW, the reason you can't find any Yellow LJs is I've bought them all . . . Well, at least it feels like I'm attempting to.
Still unable to understand this growing yellow-fever trend!

Finally got my lift and stuff installed!! Went w/ a Currie upper/lower adj kit & AntiRock. I used 4.5" RE springs, Bilstein 5100's, and a rear MC adj track bar. Added the Currie Currectlync and upgraded the front brakes with pads and rotors from Blaine @ Black Magic Brakes. I put in 5.13 gears which I absolutely love!!! I couldn't believe it but I went to the sand dunes last weekend and with those gears and my new tires it performed better than stock. After going back and forth I went with the 37" STT Pro's. Those performed awesome in the sand. I paired them with 17x9 ATX Ravine's.

My JCR sliders are supposed to be shipped out on the 17th. I'll also be adding JCR fenders front & rear. So far I'm very happy with how it rides and drive's. It's not a DD so I trailer it most long distances but I have driven it on the highway at 60mph no problem.

For those in Michigan make sure you check out the Jeep the Mac next weekend!!!! Looking forward to make the ferry trip over to Drummond Island to play around.

Born and raised in Houston. The Jeep is new to TX, not me.

Flew out there on Tuesday to lay eyes on the Jeep, carrier picked her up Wednesday, and delivered her Saturday!

Post some pics up. I'm going to be getting a rack soon, With my Soft top I have been looking at Garvin vs Gobi. I'm leaning toward the Gobi as I think it hugs the jeep better and is more low profile.
