My 4 Month Project TJ Pic Heavy

Whats up everyone, finally got the time to sign up, this forums through searching has helped me soooo much to rebuild my tj trouble shooting and getting ideas! Thanks!

I figured Id post some pictures of my tj and give u the story.

When i first got the jeep about 4 months ago from my buddy from work, it was completely rusted out! So me and my father decided to tackle this job on our own. Here is what we go with 4 months of hard work off and on

When I First got the jeep i gutted the interior.

Taking off tub

The frame was completely shot actually it was broken in half and has a strap holding it together lol. Here is the old frame.

Here is the new frame,

installed a 4" rough country lift kit

transferred the motor and tranny to the new frame

the floor pans in this jeep were as well completely shot i wish i had a picture of the old floor pans but, here are the new ones please note I am not a welder and this is my first time welding lol

we got the tub on the new frame

starting to button everything down

installed smitty bilt tube fenders

So far we go it running and moved it about 3 inchs in drive and reverse gotta put new fluided in the engine before I will take her out for a test drive!

thanks!

Very nice. That's awesome that you are able to dive in head first and really tackle this project regardless of what challenges come up. I bet it's going to feel fantastic when your cruising, top down, doors off, wind I your hair like ... "yeah".

Thats a damn good looking jeep, what rough country lift did you get the x series? And also what wheel and tire combo are you running with those fenders. My left fender is rusting out from all the salt and I'm thinking about getting tube fenders. How hard were they to install?

Wheels and Tires:
Tires: 33x12.50xR15 Bridgestone Duelers
Wheels: Black Steels 15"

will be changing the tire size with the new fenders i can throw a much bigger set on the clearance is scary big.

as for the fenders the first side took about 2 hours because i was scared to cut my fenders up lol, but after i went in like a glove, you have to trim the battery box tray and same for the other side. took about an hour for the other side.

as for the lift kit i went with this one from rought country
4in Suspension Lift Kit for 97-02 Jeep TJ Wrangler [906S] | Rough Country Suspension Systems

note get an adjustable track bars
