What type of paint for the fender flares? Looks like it's not smooth but rough, I like.

All done with paint and install. Oh yeah funny story. I could not figure out how to get wires out of grille so I just cut them and rewired. During instal just messing around and honked the horn... Windshield wipers wiped. Tuned lights on... Windshield wipers wiped. Haha

Not to much . I had some 220 lying around so used it to scuff it up alittle so paint would stick better. No issues made sure I went to auto store for fender paint.

I've seen a few guys paint their grills black and I like the look enough to be contemplating it myself.

Nice job.

Nice job on the paint... You're flag is retreating, however. The web page you posted actually says you have it backwards as well.. Stars forward please.

The decals or paintings on a vehicle would also be placed so that the union on the driver's side of the vehicle would be to the viewer's left while the union on the passenger side of the vehicle would be to the viewer's right.

According to american flags.org

So union should be facing the front of jeep on both sides right????

You answered your own question: "the union on the driver's side of the vehicle would be to the viewer's left while the union on the passenger side of the vehicle would be to the viewer's right."

And this, from USFlag.org: so that “the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward. The appropriate replica for the right shoulder sleeve is identified as the ‘reverse side flag’."

IMHO, the Union should always face forward: advancing. The colors don't run.
