Pics of the new LJ Unlimited

Here are pics of my new toy. The LJ feels more truck-like, than my old TJ SE. This heep has options that make my previous three jeeps look rather primitive, LOL. Never had a Heep with a CD player (with powered sub), Cruise control, Fancy mirror with Compass and temp guage. The sail cloth top is a nice addition (now I don't have to yell at highway speeds to talk). It's overall a better Jeep from bumper to bumper than my SE.

Only plans for it now are to remove the chrome bling up front, and maybe get some steps or something so the kids can get in easier (the only thing they miss from the SE)

Congrats on your new baby, but while you have your camera out, you might want to take a few pics of your wife. Once she sets out with the top off, you probably won't be seeing much of her. LOL I can't stay out of mine.

PS Nice color

I know, LOL she's already saying that she's giving me one week with it before she takes it away from me. Ha like if I'm ever gonna let that happen.

I didn't mean to be negative when you were making the decision. I just wanted you to be sure that you were getting exactly what you want. I am happy for you but you might as well start calling it my wife's jeep. If you can't find it, you can't drive it. We women have our ways.

Look nice, we got one just like that - only black. But I had the opposite thought on the amenities. Our first Jeep was (is) a Commander with all the bells and whistles. Now, not having power everything feels like cave-man days! I didn't even know they still made the crank windows!

LOL Yeah, I've already started working on plan B. If she takes to the LJ, I've already suggested that she let me trade in her mini-van for another Jeep for me. Then we'll have "his and hers" jeeps.

LOL, I wish you coulda seen my 1980 CJ7, that thing was cave-man to the max. And it lived for one thing only, to be a massive off road machine.

Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited
In 2004, Jeep introduced the Wrangler Unlimited with a 10 inch (~25.4 cm) longer wheelbase; it is also known by its unofficial designation of LJ. In 2005, Jeep released the Rubicon Unlimited, which has the wheelbase of the Unlimited and the off-road features of the Rubicon as well as many other comfort and convenience options not offered on other Wranglers.

I have a 2004 Unlimited and as far as I'm concerned mine's an LJ. When you decide you want to pay for it, the insurance, the gas, the maintenance, etc. you can call it what you want. Until then, get over it.

Ok, pumpkin?

marc1kim, nice Jeep...great color!!! Mine's black.

No matter what you call them, I think the LJs are going to be the most collectible in about ten years.

Nice Jeep.

PS: I still own an 80 CJ. It may not be civilized, it may not be comfortable, it may not have a CD player, but.... Um, actually, I got nothing.

Geoff, I miss my CJ, and usually find myself thinking about it alot. Sometimes Less is more. All the newer jeeps just can't capture the character and simple beauty of the CJ design. As a family guy, the LJ is exactly what I need, but someday I plan to go back "home" with an old CJ.

Thanks guys for all the compliments!!!

LOL! Actually she doesn't like driving it too much. She's worried about flipping it (she says its 'cuz she don't drive like a turtle like me).
My brother-in-law told me that an Identical LJ he sold just days before mine, was rolled just a few days after the guy bought it.
