Smittybilt

I'm looking at Smittybilt's SRC front and rear bumper, also the Smittybilt side armor. What are everyone's thoughts on Smittybilt? Cheap? High quality? If I decide against these bumpers, what would I look at? Reminder, this is all coming out of a high school boy's waller..

If you don't mind where they're made then they're the way to go if you're on a budget. They beat everyone's prices hands down. I've resisted buying this brand simply because I always try to avoid Chinese manufacturing.

I have the smittybilt front and rear tube fenders, side armor and rock sliders. I am very happy with everything and for the price they are unbeatable IMO. My only complaint might be the quality of the hardware but even the powder coating seems nice. My jeep was scrubbing front and rear fenders against the side of a washout and the powder coating was unharmed

I have the classic front and rear bumpers with the D rings and a Smittybuilt soft top and the GEAR tailgate panel and they aren't bad. I would buy them again, the bumpers hardware isn't great and I had to enlarge 2 of the holes on the rear bumper to get it to fit right.

I have Smittybilt all around on mine. PO put it on. I can't complain. So far they are holding up quite well and I have not had any issues.

On the smitty bilt gear tail gate set up. How far do the bags stick off the tail gate when they are full?

I think that is the XRC

I used to have the SRC, but swapped it for a Metalcloak bumper.

I bought a used JKR a 2010 it already had XRC bumpers and X2O comp series winch with synthetic rope installed. I have heard the story's about Smittybilt Quality so it kind of made me wonder. The bumper's are solid. the finish and welds look good.
I unspooled the winch rope and respooled it towing the jeep with the brakes locked on a gravel surface [Sucked it right up] so I feel that in spite of the negative talk it will do the job and look good doing it

SRC front bumper on my TJ, it has a pretty good aggressive design, one of the perks about this, is if you have an a**hole driver in front of you that's cuts you off, just let'em have the 40lbs+ of steel. Haha

How do you keep your larger bag from sagging? Mine will not stay formed

It sags but I have it as high as it can mount. And I have it packed full of stuff that helps keep the shape a little better.

Smittybuilt isn't exactly 'quality', but it good for the budget. This is my XRC front bumper with the XR8 winch

The quality seems good, paint seems to hold up well, but I am not sure where they make the parts. The hardware bolts etc are not the best, but I always replace with good grade stainless or grade 8 steel. I have all smittybilt gear....the front and rear SRC classic bumpers, body armor front and rear with 4" fenders and rock sliders.
