I'm new to the jeep world but this is my 97 Jeep TJ, it's been a good DD, not to mention fun off road. Most recent mods being tube bumpers, tube nerd bars, JK wheels and a JK 2.5 in spring lift with Jk shocks. Also quick discos, wheel adapters for JK wheels and a carb throttle spacer.
I can't wait to get more into off road stuff. It seems to have been modified some before by the PO because it has aftermarket diff covers on it, not sure if any internal work has been done or not.
I bought this 97 and it was patriot blue and I was going to have it painted a teal type color. The paint shop guy looked at the vin plate/sticker on the door jam and said well it came from the factory PQP ( teal ). So it is again PQP :-)

It turns out mine originally had a hard top but when we bought it the PO had switched it to a soft top. Normally I prefer a soft top but seeing some of the hard tops posted here, I'm thinking of converting it back.
I just traded (even trade) my old 96 S10 ZR2 for a Teal 97 Wrangler. She is receiving some TLC (cleaning, new Herculiner, new spice dash). Small rust spot on the frame, some rust on the front fenders, but other than that...not bad at all! I'll post pics as soon as I figure out how.
Just purchased my first Jeep and it's Teal and i gotta say i love the color. It has a 5&1'2 lift 35" tires and alot of other goodies. Tries to post pictures, but it keeps saying the file is to big. Don't know how to remedy that. Any advice? Would love to show it off!!!
Let's see if i can figure this out!!! I got my Teal Jeeps about two weeks ago and have already been hunting with it for a week and have plans for Lake Havasu for Thanksgiving. We have named it Tarantula, because we found a Tarantula in it above the speakers on the roll cage. It was dead, but still kinda spooky and kind of unique at the same time. It is our first Jeep and brings driving back as fun. Can't believe some of the places i've had it so far. Going to try and post pictures so you guys can see.
I've been working on her off and on. I have a little rust to take care of on the tub and the frame, but other than that, it's not bad. I want to make it a decent weekend warrior to start, that looks nice but can handle a trail too.
I replaced the entire dash, all the seats (ever seen BLACK and tan Sahara seats???) and bedlined the interior. Threw on some new tires (still need a spare).
It's hard to take it slow. There is so much room for improvement!
Looking good so far. These things are so easy to work on. Mine was done when i got it, but i've had a lot of fun tinkering with it. You are right though, everything costs money. Just take it one step at a time and it will be done before you know it. Oh yah, did you take out the carpet and spray in the bedliner? I was thinking of maybe doing that. And i don't really like those zippered windows, would like to get glass sliders for the front, after a little time and money.
I've been busy working all the mechanical problems out on ours. Down to just the cat and exhaust and she should be good. However, my girl couldn't wait and ordered the smittybilt src front and rear bumpers. I think it looks a little funny without a lift and tires, but that's next.
