Trails Near Santa Maria, CA. Hardest trail I've attempted up till now. Kept on the gas and TJ climbed right up

First post on this forum so let's start by properly introducing.....my Jeep

Pretty much stock, only swapped to stock tires for 31 inch AT's and added the side bars (so far....)

Cheers,
Martin

Btw: not me behind the wheel on pics 1, 3 and 5 but one of my friends - I was taking the pics!

^^Congrats on buying the Jeep. Looks like a nice one.

Unless you have tremendous self control, you will be buying a lot more stuff for it.

Is that a hi-lift jack directly over your head?

Thanks Dave. Have it now for almost a year (yes....only now became member of this forum....), so have been offroad with it couple of times already. Above pics have been taken this summer in Germany, where I also managed to submerge the car - interesting experience. Unfortunately don't have a picture from the outside as I'm sure it was a funny sight, but did take a quick pic of the passenger side with my phone before I moved on to save my car

Couple more with hardtop during last winter:

Ps. Yes that's the high-lift jack on the rollbar, securely strapped to it! Didn't want that thing on top of my head.

That same day I actually drove on what later turned out to be a frozen pool. Also turned out my car was too heavy for that

There's a movie somewhere on the internet of me being pulled out of the water, will try to find it and post the link here

Looks really cold there! I have been wheeling in 100+ heat, but never the cold like that. I would have been scared hearing the ice crunch and then give way...creepy!

Hearing ice creak and groan is the second worst sound in the world. The first (for me) is snow crunching under your feet. I would rather listen to cats fighting on a chalkboard than hear that sound. Hence the reason I live in south florida

I love snow wheeling. It makes the easiest trails that much more challenging.

Agree! Although there is still a difference between wheeling in snow and crashing through the ice with your Jeep

We usually don't get that much snow, but when it's there it's fun to drive. Actually never took my TJ on real 'snow-expeditions' yet but have been in the Ardennes forest (Belgium) once with my friends' Grand Cherokee and went offroad in the fresh snow in the hills/mountains. That was actually my first time driving in his car and first time offroad - had to learn pretty fast

Congrets!

And if you try to pull your Jeep with this improvised tow point you'll ruin the front bumper. Get some towhooks.
