Up to the headlight level of water should be the limit since thats where the intake pipe is at but a snorkel will fix that.

Of course this is just my personal opinion but without him being in deeper water where a bow wave that would swamp water into his up-turned air intake, I don't believe hydrolocking is much of a risk in that shallow water. At most, I'd say the risk in that depth is minor at best and certainly nothing to give anyone serious worry over.

i have seen wranglers hydrolock in shallower water ...

the club i am a part of is the 'go-to' place to get stuck / broken vehicles off the local trails .... we pull off about 10 vehicles every school year .... one a month ... (we are by Virginia Tech ... you would think engineers would be smarter than that) half of those vehicles are hydrolocked from some moran blowing through 12" of water at 30 mph

Super Swamper TSL's. Great strong tire, but for mainly road driving they do tend to wear out faster.

Lost, looks like you all had a blast. Who care's what you are wheeling on as long as you are having fun.

I have heard a lot of praise for the road worthyness (if that's a word?!?!) of the BF Goodrich AT's and also the MT for a mud terrain. I think I am gonna try to go with the MT's on mine when I get tires because I really like the tread pattern on these.

I've had BFG M/Ts on my truck for 3 years, dunno, about 20,000 miles, STILL has LOTS of tread left, I will buy them again as soon as I can afford them!

Curently running A/T's on all of my Jeeps and they last very long! I think my mom's XJ has at least 45k on them and they still look great. The ones on my XJ have seen thier fair sare of abuse with plenty of lugs missin' and gouges here and there, and still work great. I havn't had experience with the M/Ts though, but hear good things all around about them.

Yeah the Baja Claw is definitely a mean looking tire, but I have heard some people say that they don't wear very well on the road. No personal experience, that's just what I heard.
