Custom Maglight Holder!

Custom made Jeep D-Cell Maglight holder:

I have been developing and testing a unique Maglight holder that I think would be pretty useful for many of us. I've seen a few mods where people buy two of the simple Maglight clips and screw them right into a door panel / center console / etc. Someone gave me the idea to make a custom one that would be a little more aesthetically pleasing, and have a little Jeep pride built in.

This is what I've come up with so far. It holds a D-Cell Maglight very well, and could be mounted virtually anywhere in a Jeep (or your home) via the 4 mounting holes, or could be fastened to the roll cage with some large zipties.

This is not quite ready for sale yet, but should be within a week or so. I estimate the price to be in the neighborhood of $20-$22 including shipping and 4 mounting screws. These are 3D printed and made of hard plastic. All D-cell maglights will clip right in (and out) with just the right amount of force. I've spent quite a bit of time clipping in, and then removing my Maglight to simulate lots of use. It is possible to break the clips, but I am convinced that breaks will not occur with normal and reasonable use. These will be available in green (seen here), black, white, and orange so far, with other colors available down the road.

The point of this posting was really to generate some feed back about the concept and design.

The comment has been made already to make the letters JEEP look more like Jeep's actual font, but unfortunately due to trademarks and copyright laws I really cant do that.

Also, what are your thoughts about it saying JEEP vs just the letters "JK" or "TJ" or something to that effect?

Who's interested?!

Thanks for looking!

That is a cool little design. Nice!

I'd say type it up as "Jeep" not "JEEP," it keeps it just like the logo. And is there a reason why maybe the clips aren't actually metal (Won't break)? Not bashing at all just curious.

And yea copyrights suck.......but it's close enough.

Thanks!

Ill give it a try in lower case and see how it works out.

The main reason that the clips are metal is that I make these with my 3D printer, which can only make things out of plastic. I could add on metal clips myself, which is something I can look into down the road, but for right now I think plastic will suffice. Honestly unless you really beat the heck out of the clips they shouldnt break. I slammed in down in the clips dozens of times very hard and they never broke. The only way I could make it break was if I unclipped one side and twisted the maglight as it ripped it out of the other side. I just want to be honest about it and not try to deceive anyone into thinking it is invincible, but I figured here on a Jeep forum especially, everyone understand that things can break!
