I've seen a few others that have their YJ's bed lined . I'm talking about having the entire Jeep covered. I'm just seeing who else had the great idea of painting their Jeep in bed liner.
I really like the idea and am contemplating it myself as parts of the clear coat are gone or wearing away. How do you like it? Had any problems with it?
I can't really say too much because it's still waiting for the transmission. But I really like the way it came out and the texture of the bed liner. And I haven't noticed any problems with it so far. Anyways, I am really happy with the way it turned out.
Here is a pic of my Rhino liner that allowed moisture to penetrate and rust the tub. I caught it in time. They also did a very poor job of prepping the surface before spraying the liner. It lasted about 10 years. A few moves later and I lost the receipt so they did not stand behind their lifetime warranty even when it wasn't prepped properly. I'd stay away from Rhino. They were good back in the day but there are much better products out now. The Rhino was a pain to get out.
Here is the new stuff. It has sound deadening qualities so I sprayed the inside of the hardtop as well as the firewall with the rest of the tub.
what do yall think about the DIY kits you can get a stores like autozone or walmart thats rolled on? i dont have a air compressor nor a place to put it since i live in a complex
The monstaliner is a DIY kit that comes with all you need and us rolled on. I like monstaliner albeit expensive but that is all I have used and I have no experience with the cheaper bed liner products.
From their website they say that a 1 gallon kit would do a jeep tub. Here is a link to their website. They have all sorts of info, pictures, and testimonials. I'm not sure where or if you can get it other than from the website.http://www.monstaliner.com
I used Monstaliner as well, and it is a great product! I am in the process in choosing an external color for my Yj. I will probably be getting the spray gun though, it comes out more uniform!
