Vent sucks air in from bouncing off windshield. If you face it forward it will suck air, dirt and water.
Plus that one does not fit on the other way. It would block the washer nozzles.

I originally had it facing toward the front, which is actually backwards, found out after reading another thread. It is not a hood scoop, which faces forward. It's a cowl scoop, which faces the windshield in order to collect wind bouncing off the windshield due to the (lack of) aerodynamics of the Jeep.

They are Hi-Lift tube mounts. You can get them most anywhere. I was wondering if I was going to have enough room, but it fits fine. Morris 4x4, Quadratec have them for sure. I hope it helps.
