Whether or not it is needed is based 100% off of personal preference. I need one, because I am not going to risk driving on a Southern California highway without one. All it takes is some young f***stick in a Honda Civic to think he can cut me off inches from my front bumper, which forces me over into the next lane immediately. Without mine hooked up, I'd have gone over and my Jeep would be in a scrap pile.

I personally think you are a couple sandwiches short of a picnic basket if you willingly decide to throw it away and drive on the road. Leaf springs can flex just as easily as a coil spring can, but it's up to you.

Daily drive mine aggressively with none. Soa on waggy springs. You have to treat it like a lifted jeep not a sports car. I learned to drive in a car that had no sway bars from the factory. Until recent years, none of my pickups had them from the factory. Its surely a personal preference. I unhooked mine for about two weeks, then it came off. Then i went soa on waggys, its soft and it sways.

Probably sitting on the bump stop.

I wasn't done flexing up there, but I didn't have much gas in the tank and when it shifted it went dry. Lol!

How do they score those? I've never actually seen a ramp competition.

Its a formula, divide your wheel base by how far you go up the ramp and times that by 1000 you get your score.

Here's a couple. The front could go up a couple more inches.

Right now I have about a 4inch lift, no traction or sway bars, and Ive been considering doing a SOA, cutting fenders, or both. Any suggestions or opinions?

I wouldn't do an SOA with 4" springs unless you plan on something like 38s in the future. It gets really top heavy.

IF I did decide to go with a SOA, with the lift I have now, would I need to do more than just the shackle flip etc? like would I need new brake lines, or steering shaft?

You would most likely need new brake lines. Not sure about a steering shaft. And by shackle flip, do you mean putting springs on top of the axle?

Could you possibly come in here and post your opinion?
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f8/what...v8-240391.html

I am already SOA, and need new front springs but I can't decide either.

I think theres another guy with one too. I think its Beach Bum.

And I had to paint it something wild. I bought it a couple years ago and it was purple. Not even like a good plum crazy purple. My friends at the local body shop said they'd paint it for free if I get something cool and advertise it. So I painted it right away.
